Good post Ken, summed it up for me, finally at the 40 point mark as well so should be safe for another season.

We are managing to keep this amazing away record going with Greenwood, Rashford and Martial not playing well at all, Bruno is having a bit of a bad spell as well, if they can start firing then who knows what can happen.

Its refreshing to see us grinding ugly games out and getting results. Its something we have definitely been lacking the past few seasons.

On a complete separate point can I just make a point to say how good Luke Shaw has been this season. Another solid performance, great getting forward and great defensively. Can't fault the boy.

Pogba was very good tonight. He can play in midfield when he works as hard as he did tonight no matter who the opposition is. Application has been good recently and he seems at peace and knows the manager wants him in his team.
Its up to him to get the manger to trust him in his best position. A few more games like tonight will go a long way towards that.
Nice to see cavani get a goal too.
Shaw made the tackle of the game for me at the back post really alert defending.
Bruno had a couple of good long range efforts which is good to see.
We as you would expect were more aggressive and dominant tonight but without being that dangerous.
Bailly can look like Bobby moore and bobby davaro within the same 10 mins. He is one of the only players who has me on the edge of my seat because you never really know what your going to get. With him its fine most of the time but you know your never far away from either a moment of brilliance or madness i do enjoy him.

Fully agreed on shaw.

My only concern is why on earth do we keep playing 4-3-3 when we have no wingers and martial/ greenwood do nothing on the flanks? I get playing players based on form but Donny must be thinking how on earth he doesn’t get minutes when he sees some of the players consistently picked.

Great 3 points. Agree about Shaw. And a few more. I hate to spoil the party but what does martial do. He does my head 8n watching a game.

I still see the poor form of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood as something of a positive. That we’re top of the pile in spite of their largely abject performances this season makes me believe that if they can recapture their form from the end of last season then we might just be able to win this thing. It’s a big ‘if’ and I still think the league is City’s to lose; but I don’t think we’ll finish too far behind them and wouldn’t be too surprised if we just about managed to pip them at the post.

Fred was good too. He won several duels and won us the ball to push further up.

Daz,

Show me where Jose was top of the league and getting slated and you might have a valid point. The issue with Jose was that we were playing badly and not getting results, he didn’t want to be here and the performances and league position didn’t warrant him keeping the job. If he was top of the league he wouldn’t have been sacked, surely you can see the difference?

Ken City weren't lucky they played well against a good Villa team and kept doing their thing until they finally found a goal. Then did not sit back but went right to the end looking for another.

Pains me to say it but they are still a lot better than us.
