I have a question for my fellow Eds and posters.
If United was to finish 3rd again this season would you be disappointed or ok with it?

{Ed004's Note - I think comfortably finishing 3rd and being competitive in the league is another big step in the right direction. I dont think we have the best team/squad in the league currently.}

Agree with Ed here.

We’re top of the table and suddenly we’ve forgotten about our situation back in September and October.

City should be favourites for the league and I still think Liverpool will finish ahead of us. That’s trying to be realistic.

But we are currently top so I don’t see any reason against throwing everything we have at the league and seeing where we end up. If it’s 3rd then so be it but I’d rather finish 3rd full guns blazing than to see us eventually drifting out of every competition due to exhaustion.

As long as we're only a half dozen points off top at most, I wouldn't mind third.

If we are to finish 3rd though, it will obviously mean us dropping a few points between now and the end of the season which you'd have to expect, but so will City, Leicester, Liverpool, Tottenham so potentially United dropping more so what will people's views be on Solsjkaer if this is to happen?

Yes, if we rack up higher points tally and give a proper challenge to whoever is at the top.

ED004,

It is a strange season. I do think at rb AWB needs competition. Perhaps Tuanzebe may provide that, should the club not wish to strengthen the RB position any time soon.

A concern for me are Martial and Rashford. We need them firing on all cylinders if we are to win the league.

Hopefully we can shift all. the deadwood come summer.

What are you feelings on the EL? I for one would rather focus on the league and a CL spot than the EL.
It might be better to play our squad players to gain some game time I stead. DvB, Mata, Tuanzebe, Henderson, Greenwood, maybe Diallo and lingard too, should the latter stay.

{Ed004's Note - I think a lot depends on how the league is going with regards to the EL. KdB being out for 6 weeks is a bit blow to City. They've been struggling to score lately and been relying on the form of their cbs. With KdB out and Aguero struggling with form/covid where are the goals coming from.

If we have a chance at the league, big if at this stage, you got to prioritise that surely. I also agree AWB needs competition. Would love to see Laird promoted in the summer if he is successful on loan but could see us bringing in a veteran like Trippier (shades of Telles & Shaw here).}
