Just to touch on DvdB, it will be difficult for someone when they only get a game a month to show their worth or 2 mins at the end of a game. Donny prob is unhappy as he was told he would play when be signed, lied to basically, so feel sorry for the lad as he is a top class player.
Having said that we are a winning side atm so going to be hard for anyone to get in now over the first eleven.
The front 3 yday is the front 3 i'd use game in and out tbh, Martial to me offers nothing where you saw Rash and Mase offering threat in abundance, shame Rash may be injured now.
It was a fantastic game yesterday I have to say, really enjoyed it.
Shaw, brilliant again.
Deano I thought played well.
Pogba did some dirty work which is a side be never embraces usually so another string to his bow.
Bruno, just world class.
Great win for us fans but what's important to me is that win for our mentality will be massive going forward.

I thought Van de beek did okay yesterday. He needs minutes and I think he will play a bigger role second half of the season. He’s a completely different player to Bruno and I’d like to see him in midfield on Wednesday night where we will have more of the ball.

I'm not sure players are told that they will play at the point of signing. Maybe some of the bigger egos insist on it in their contracts, but I'm sure in VDB's case he will have been told he has the same chances as everyone else to impress in training. He probably looked at the players United had and felt he was an upgrade so took his chances. To be fair I thought he was but it's a bit of a vicious circle. He needs a run of games to find some form, but isn't doing enough to warrant more games. Sadly at the minute only an injury to Fred or McTominay is going to get him a decent run in the team.

I might be one of the minority on here but I thought DvdB did well in the first half yesterday. One touch passing even in tight situations was super refreshing when we generally take three or four touches which kills our counter. I want to see him in the team regularly so he can build chemistry with Bruno and a DM. He is a super no. 8 and an average no. 10. Unfortunately we are only getting to see the latter.

I thought he was bang average yesterday. Neither good or bad, but I also know he needs the games. Maybe Wednesday will be a good opportunity for the lad.

There was a point yesterday he got the ball clear on the right and the move was on to put Cavani through. He pulled up like his hamstring had gone, turned round, and played the ball 20 yards back into midfield. Thought LVG was back in the dugout.

Is it a Dutch thing?

I am with RLF here, he was very good with good passes and made the team tick. Maybe he was one of the reasos we controled the game in the first half.

Agree with RLF and Herrera. VdB isn't a 10 and it showed. His positioning was all wrong and often he was getting in Cavani's way/ space.

The lad is an 8 and his strength is moving the ball forward through midfield quickly and decisively. His ability to do that contrasts sharply with Pogba who needs multiple touches and this is why he loses the ball so often in dangerous positions.

Pogba is also a poor no 10 which is why he never plays there.

DvB looked a long way from match sharp as well. His movement looked laboured especially in the second half.

I think there is this thing with British fans where we expect our midfielders to be either making crunching tackles, hitting Hollywood balls or scoring. If they don't then we think they have been poor.

While Donny didn't set the world alight yesterday I think he played a vital role in us having more of a control of the midfield. He was always a passing option and meant Liverpool couldn't press us as easily as in other games. He also found important passes.
