Very surprised at Chelsea sacking Lampard. They are only 11 point of the top with a lot of games to play. A couple off wins/ losses for any team can change the whole league its that tight.
Thank god we stuck with Ole hopefully it will pay off.

They are 9 behind City having played a game less, the league isn't as tight as you are making out, a couple of wins won't get them anywhere and having spent so much in the summer only to get worse I don't think anyone can be surprised that Roman has got rid of him, he is hardly knows for his patience.

I don't see Tuchel as a step forward. I think Rodgers is perfect for them and the players they have.

GDS2. Christmas 2020 we where well away form the top (30 points ish I think) and in dire form. After Christmas we were the best team in the league.
I agree that Roman isn't exactly know for his patience but they are far from being dead in the water.

11 points with half the season left its doable in my opinion, don't get me wrong I'm happy for them to chop and change the manager half way into the season, they will probably sack Tuchel before the season is done.

If Roman was in charge of Liverpool he would have probably sacked Klopp after their poor run of form.

Wazza Rogers is a bloody good shout he may have fond memories of Chelsea, although it's a poison chalice no manager last more than 2/ 3 seasons there.

I don't think they bought well in the summer, I thought as team defensively they looked poor last season .
They spent major cash on players i'm not sure they need or fit in .
Not sure about tuchel in the epl either.

I think that's why they sacked him now. 5 points off of 4th place, with a boost and some better performances they can still get into the top 4 this season. However, if they continue to slide down the table then it becomes much harder to claw back 12 points with 10 games left to play.

I feel a little sorry for Frank, it was too big a job too soon. He literally had only managed for 1 season. Then the 6 summer signings rocked the boat and he didn't have the experience to integrate them without putting his other players noses out of joint.

Players like James and Mount will be around for years to come. But Tomori, Abrahams and Hudson-Odoi it remains to be seen. But dropping them for the shiny new summer signings after they did so well last season has certainly caused tension behind the scenes.

Apparently people at the club were unhappy with him discarding Kepa after the club spent £71m to sign him a few years ago. Although not enough apparently to spend money this summer signing Mendy.

I think there is a lot of politics that goes on behind the scenes most of us will never know about, it seems there's more to this managing crack than getting the team to score goals.

It’s harsh but not really a surprise, this is how Roman operates. I think Ole would have gone, Arteta would have gone, Jose would have gone, even Klopp might have gone. There is no patience at Chelsea, it is about instant success and I guess he’s free to do as he pleases.

They bought a lot of new players, possibly too many, who will take time to integrate so to sack the Manager half way through the season is plain daft. However, look over the seasons since they won their first trophy of this era, I’m guessing they’ve won more trophies than any other team, so maybe it does work?

AJH Maybe although City may have won more.

Simon, it is difficult for them to bounce back mainly because several players especially Havertz and Werner are struggling badly.
Lamps doesn't even know his best XI.

In the last 10 years, City and Chelsea are level.
