Jesus Christ lads the way you lot are on about us at the moment you’d think we was arsenal. We lost a game it happens. Now all of a sudden rashford has no brain, greenwood is pants and the rest!

Think the overreaction is dire to be honest. Granted it was a bad loss but you were all jumping on the bandwagon and when we hit a bump it’s throw the toys out the pram and call every player in line of sight all the persons under the sun.

Grown men crying like little kids over one game, give your head a wobble.

Taking a break from here for a while, 002 is right some of the fan base is downright toxic.

See ya on the flip side lads.

Red last night was atrocious. No other word for it and the players and manager have no excuse for such a lacklustre performance. If Utd had played with passion intelligence and intensity but the ball just would not go in or Sheffield defended amazingly then ok hands up. it. an happen.

But last night was not like that. Inexcusable. Simple.

That doesn't mean Rashford is a terrible player nor Greenwood but they did deserve criticism. Harsh criticism.

So yes fans being toxic is not ok but most fans were just uoset and in disbekief how we threw away three points. The fans also know that this Utd team is nowhere near good enough to win the league and that the manager is clueless at times. That is not toxic its realistic. No true Utd fan wants to criticise the manager or team. We want to be singing their praises and looking down on rival fans.

Let's say your right Salford, but people still need to get a grip. This season is completely surreal with some mad results. Footballers are not robots, they are young men dealing with a C.V. like the rest of us. We were rubbish last night, now move on. It's just football.

Toxicity works both ways mate. Some posters win draw or lose we say the truth, that we don't play well and Ole has no patterns and he is not good enough.
English clearly is not my first language so maybe i am wrong, so does toxicity means saying what you are seeing?
Its a banter page and we all can express our opinions, how we see things. In that way i think that toxicity is if someone trying to avoid the opposing views calling them toxics.

First Shef goal their player is clearly pushing DDG under the ball. No foul given.

Utd score a goal with Harry mcguire simply challenging their keeper for the ball jumping straight up. Foul given goal disallowed.

Was the performance good enough? No. Is it suddenly proof positive that we're all doomed? No.

It was a poor midweek game that had upset written all over it. I wish I had money on it, because my betting fortune is so poor it would have given fate a hard decision to make!

What is important now is the reaction at the weekend. Need to show we are a contender this season, contenders put these types of setbacks right the very next chance they get.

Red,

Keep posting mate, I know this site can be a nightmare at times, especially the day after a game where some posters seem happy so they can say they told us so, they knew we were useless, this has been coming for weeks, Rashford has no brain and is dreadful etc etc.

We are never going to win every game so if people wait long enough they will always get to a game we don’t win eventually and they can do what has happened today. We haven’t lost in the league since 1st November I think it was, so it’s been a whole so people could say I told you so, the site has actually been quiet for January, I commented on that a few days ago, suddenly it’s full of posts, it’s a shame really that fans only seem to want to post to say I told you so and moan about the team.

I say what I see. I praised Ole after the Liverpool win but said what I saw after the Sheffield game. I am used to having insults thrown at me, including the word toxic. It seems some peoples idea of support is that you cannot critique the performance, cannot say a word about inadequacy in a manager or point out players are not playing well or that in game management is not being managed. To be a supporter it seems for some, you are only allowed to be blinkered and shout Utd Utd rah rah rah, ole is a god.

That has never been the case before even with SAF and I for one will comment on what I see and it isn’t I told you so or moaning, that is just people trying to influence everyone only to have one positive Ole opinion. Use your eyes everyone and don’t be afraid of your opinion no matter how much people try to silence you.

{Ed025's Note - i have to say i agree with most of what your saying redman as it is all about opinions, however it does seem that everything you post is very negative mate even though you make a lot of very valid points, for me there has to be a balance or it can come across as a bit of a witch hunt, that goes the other way as well when posts laud up the team even when they play poorly, as i say...balance is the key..

And some people still want to make excuses for the loss. What’s toxic is the attitude of a lot of the players. Did you see the lack of desire in the players closing people down? This is the worst side in premier league history potentially, and we turned up like we thought it would be a breeze. The team selection was poor, our players were downright atrocious, it’s ok to lose when you give everything and get beat by a better side on the day, it’s not ok when they can’t be arsed to jog to close down players. It was a shambolic performance from players and manager . Our manager blames it’s a weird world this year rather than he picked the wrong team and made the wrong in game decisions.

Spot on the money that Stand. It's a recurring theme so there's no point us keep banging on about it. Just suck up the frustration and enjoy the good moments when they come like the Liverpool cup match.

Another wall flower "taking A break" because of "toxic" fans. Another I'm above all this nonsense post. Get a grip mate. We're all strangers posting our opinions on a game that invokes emotion. Over the last few years we've watched our rivals Hoover up every trophy in sight and some expect us to come on here and wax lyrical non stop?

When we do well the sun is shining and I have to read posts about great everything is, when in reality it's not. When we lose, there's a restraining order on anything negative, labelled toxic when we simply have an opinion.

You can't have your cake and eat it. The manager and players can't be praised when we go top of the league only to be let off the hook with lame excuses when we have displays like Wednesday night.

You and other fans maybe delighted with what the manager is doing. I and other supporters see it differently. It's not personal.

As for announcing your exit, I just hope you still feed your high horse since you won't be using it for awhile.

Stand and Mumbles I think you are right. This is a site to express opinions. I try to do so in a balanced way. Some may agree or disagree with what I say. If I criticise it is not done with malice or glee.

We do not have a divine right to win. Nobody does. That right has to be earned and the minimum it entails is putting in a shift. Against the bottom team in the league we did not see it. C.V. era or normal either that is just not acceptable.

I cannot go to work and mess around and expect my boss to say "dont worry you will still get paid and we will turn a blind eye because of the stress of C.V. times". When NHS staff are doing ludicrously long shifts facing real danger to their health day after day a suggestion that we should excuse highly paid cossetted footballers is an insult to the NHS workers.

With regards to the goals given and disallowed. I would argue that a Fergie team with Schmeichel Bruce and Pallister or Van Der Sar Rio and Vidic would have dealt with the first goal easily. Likewise a Fergie team would have had midfielders closing down Sheffield and defenders clearing the danger well before Burke got the ball.

With regard to the goal chalked off as a foul. a good team gets on with it and makes sure they do get an equaliser and then goes on to beat the bottom placed team who are no worldbeaters.

It is true teams have off days but a top team doesn't have a day like that against such a poor team as Sheffield are and certainly not when nearly all 11 players play with such a lack of intensity. Nor do tbey have a manager who makes so many wrong decisions.

Am i being toxic? No. Realistic. We are not good enough to win the league it is that simple. In key positions we meed better players. We need a better manager too. That dows not mean i won't enjoy the victories when they come if we play well because it cheers me up no end to see us play well. But I won't look through rose tinted glasses and dismiss the obvious deficiencies we have. I do not agree that we should continue to have to accept mediocrity with a few shafts of sunshine to brighten the gloom. We should aspire to so much more.

Lastly on the Racism issue. Any Racist post on social media should be punished by the platform that hosts it. The social media giants have a responsibility to society to do a lot more. They make billions in profits and can use some of it to ward off this evil.

Red whiskey. Do you want to live in a society where you are not free to express your opinion?
Perhaps China or Russia is the place for you. Having an opinion and expressing it is not being toxic.
Not allowing or not having tolerance for other opinions is toxic. Very toxic. Imo.

Don’t think he does Ken, that’s not what he’s saying, we lost one game and the site has turned into this, I think that’s probably what he’s saying, it’s a bit of a joke inif?
