Would love Keane but his aggressive attitude and game is probably not suited to the modern rules of the game and would get him in trouble most often than not.

TrueRedDevil, although Vidic is a fantastic option I feel Rio's pace and reading of the game is a better fit with say Maguire as his partner.

Ooh tough one. I was tempted by other great players at their peak, Vidic, Keane, Scholes, Cantona, RvN and Ronaldo.

However, for me I think it would be:

Rio Ferdinand
Michael Carrick
Robin van Persie

based on the squad we have. We need a quick CB partner for Maguire and Rio is the obvious choice. I went with Carrick in midfield as he could control a game and give us that solid base to work from. I really wanted to go for Ronaldo, but I think the real weakness we have is in centre forward not wide forward areas. At his peak Ronaldo was a wide forward. So I went with RvP as he would score loads of goals and blend better with the modern game than RvN in my opinion.

Ed004, with our current squad I think we need someone who could stay central and keep the defenders occupied most often than not, Rooney for me would just drift too much out of position wanting the ball and be all over the place.

{Ed004's Note - I think if we are getting everyone at their peak for United, Rooney's peak was through the middle for us imo. Either way think a front 3 of Rashford, Ronaldo and Rooney would be too much to handle for any defence. Has a bit of everything}

TrueRedDevil, I absolutely love Vidic but if we are going to pair him up with one of Maguire/ Lindelof then there is lack of pace at the back unless it is Bailly/ Tuanzebe as his partner. We are lacking someone who can read the game and yet has the pace to counter threats and Rio fits the bill alongside any of the current CB options.
