When is enough enough? Ole will be safe whilst we are in the top 4, but when City take us to the cleaners on Sunday and if Chelsea keep on improving then our spot could under threat.

The Ole fans will say that we're unbeaten in 21 game away, lost just 4 of our last 26 league games and second top scorers in the league. But the realists among us would say that we are 14 points behind City and are due to play them on Sunday. We are out of the CL after failing to get 1 point from our last 3 games. No wins against the top 6 this season, lost in another semi final and have the worst defence in the top 10.

I really have had enough of watching our no tactics approach that relies on Bruno and others to project magic week in week out. I very much doubt Ole would still be in a job without Bruno.

It's upsetting to see that after just a few weeks Tuchel has put his stamp on that Chelsea. It's clear to see the plan, what they're trying to achieve and how they go about it.

We are utterly boring and devoid of any strategy.

There’s little point talking about oles future tbh, he’s safe for next season. The board aren’t ambitious enough to make changes and will see our current position as improvement enough. We have improved in certain areas but are a long way from where we need to be, guess we will just have to let this play out 🤷‍♂️.

You lose me at ‘realist’. You have an opinion and that’s absolutely fine, it doesn’t mean your opinion is any more valid than anyone else’s because you say yours is ‘real’. It’s just an opinion like everyone else on here.

Tonight was crap, the last few weeks have been crap, it must improve.

Tuchel was happy with a 0-0 at home on Sunday against us, what stamp has he put on them? They have improved like a lot of teams do with a new manager, how well did Ole start? Means nothing.

Absolutely shocking!
I'm talking about Ole being interviewed by sky. Asked why we were a bit flat, the answer is "that's human nature". He seemed like a man that doesn't know why we are playing so poorly.

Anyone being realistic can see the huge flaws at the heart of the team and tactics, or lack thereof. Maguire isn’t good enough, Wan Bissaka isn’t good enough going forward and his positioning is suspect. Matic isn’t good enough and plays so deep we almost have one in midfield at times. Martial is talented but he isn’t good enough to play centre forward in a team that wants and needs to win titles. Rashford is talented but inconsistent and plays far too wide for an inverted winger. Likewise Greenwood is talented but inconsistent and again plays far too wide for an inverted winger. That similarity suggests that they are being coached to play that way, which suggests the coaches are clueless because it isn’t working now and it wasn’t working before we signed Bruno. Bruno is a fantastic player but he can’t do it all.

Perhaps we are having a good season, but we are only just the best of the rest, and that is simply because the rest are all so poor. City are already miles clear, with another 12 games to play, having had an awful start to the season, despite being without Aguero. There is an enormous gulf between Man United and the like of Man City and Bayern Munich, and I don’t think Solskjaer is capable of taking United to that level. That is no disrespect to Ole, he has done a good job, he has improved the culture and the results at the club, but I think he has done as much as he can.

I don't think Fresh means realist. Maybe he used the wrong word. From the other words i understand that he want to say ambitious.
Because being ampitious means you look what's on front of you and not behind you.
Because of all the debates one thing is crystal clear : People that defend Ole use the phrases "we are second", "things are not so bad", "look at Chelsea", "look at Liverpool" etc. They compare us with what's behind us. They are ok with this, for me they are not so ampitious. But not really in most cases. Most people just want to proved right in a debate more than express their real feelings so they lowering the bar to be proved wrong.
At the other hand there are more ampitious people who have the bar much higher. They expect a lot more for a manager who is here almost 2.5 years here. A lot more than the "its not too bad" because we don't care if its not so bad, we only care if it good enough.

A forum is about expressing opinions. I consider myself to be a realist that can see that Ole is not up to task. I would consider those who think he’s the right man to be deluded. That is my opinion, which I am entitled to.

Tuchel also said it was a high quality game. Always take managers comments with a pinch of salt.

Fresh is correct about Bruno, since Pogba has got injured and Bruno's form has dipped, probably because he has been carrying the team for so long, we have looked devoid of ideas. Fortunately it is a season where every team is struggling, well apart from the one that had a mid season CV break.

{Ed077's Note - doesnt anybody else think playing virtually every game isn't a good strategy? I'm talking about Bruno and Rashford mainly}

Yeah it was poor again tonight fresh.
Tim i'm assuming ole will be fired if we don't get cl football. That is far from guaranteed at this stage. So he is not safe yet. It might look like he and the players have gone on holiday early but their job is far from done.
I think city will beat us at the weekend. That's 2 wins from last 8 puts us on a par with West brom sheffutd fulham and Newcastle.
The buffer we had is being eaten away. Its going to be tight. We may end up shifting our priority to the el. Its very winnable.

Oles persistence with 2 DMs against teams that's clearly going to sit in and be hard to break down shows his limitations! Playing Fred week in week out is shocking.

We don’t have the worse defence in the top 10.

Both Liverpool and Everton have conceded more.

I’m not arguing against anything you’ve said but let’s say it how it is.

We were top 6 weeks ago. We're now 14 points behind City and they have +18 goals on us.

The manager was eyeing up top 4 when he said we weren't in a title race when we were 6 points behind them.

Like a team trying to defend a 1-0 lead with 30 minutes to go. It's a dangerous game to play and is going to be hard to change the mindset if it goes wrong. Neville said "United are sleepwalking to a top 4 finish when it could have been so much more".

At the start of the season all I wanted was to be in a title race coming into the last leg of the league. A defeat on Sunday could see us 17 points behind City. They could be crowned champions in March.

I remember Ken saying he wanted this team to improve on last year. 80+ points. We will need to win 10 of our remaining 11 games to finish with more than 80 points.

I think we will finish in the top 4 and the manager will get another season. But he must Change his mindset. We always joke about Sam Alardyce taking over when we change manager. I honestly think big Sam would have us playing better football.

Well into his 3rd year and his managerial colours are showing. He is a defensive coach. A tactical coward.

There was a reason they changed it to 3 points for a win. It's a shame we don't have a coach that actually wants to win games. We have one that is solely focusing on self preservation.

Henderson won us a point just like ddg many a time i'm pleased for him.
Pogba can win any match in a moment and his creativity is missed nobody can deny that. Even if he is playing fire a move we miss that.
Not one player apart from Henderson made a match winning or losing moment in the game for us. Just a load of mediocrity. No bad luck no good luck just more of the same. 2 wins from our last 8 games but no defeats. 2 goals in our last 4 games. Bruno is being snuffed out and rashford has gone off the boil and they are our only real creative players from open play.
You know how I feel about our approach and our lack of intent to dominate mathes and our slow and predictable play. I get frustrated as a fan watching the manner in which Manchester United are so submissive in our play in our approach, little pace in our play no real style no flair no excitement no fecking expectation and very little entertainment.
Its not a case of feeling entitled its not a case of stamping feet because we're not winning. Its a case of not identifying with this team. This team do not represent me as a fan. I remember the 70's and 80's very well. Losing but feeling excited by fergies original fledglings. Big rons boozy entertainers. Docs flying wingers. Dave sexton who I liken to ole and the boredom. Moses madness lvg's philosophy Jose sulks but most of them had a go. Ole doesn't have a go. He talks the talk he can't and doesn't walk the walk.
