Most Premier League minutes clocked by any player this season :
1. Maguire
2. Wan Bissaka
3. Tielemens
4. Rashford
5. Bruno

Top 4 out of 5 are United players.
Poor squad management isn't it, considering this is the most hectic season ever?

It's clear especially Bruno and Rashy look burnt out.

So which games would people have liked to see Williams, Mata and James play then? As these three are arguably the best options in the squad for AWB, Bruno and James?

This is just league minutes and doesn't take into account that AWB, Maguire, Bruno and Rashford have played the vast majority of of cup games as well.

So which league games would you feel confident in resting AWB, Bruno and Rashford AND still get a result in?

People keep telling me this is a great squad, but the reality is we rely heavily as a team on a few players and the back up for them few players represents a massive drop off in quality.

Also while we might have quite a few CB's on the books the reality is that all of them bar Maguire have struggled with injuries this season. Tuanzebe, Jones and Bailly regularly going down with injuries and missing weeks at a time. Lindelof has been playing the whole season with pain killing injections in his back since he got injured in the pointless Europa league last season playing on a plastic pitch.

This is another facet of the game Ole missed from Sir Alex. He was the master at rotating players.

The man doesn't use all his subs. Very rarely makes a change before 70 minutes. There is plenty of opportunities to rest players here and there.

In a lot of games Shappy. In a well coached teams every decent player can fit in.
Our team is not a well coached team and our attack rely too much in a moment of brilliance of Bruno and a run of Rashford. We could make a better use of Matas tiki taka and Donys movement's between the lines. Furthermore every team that lose the 3 best players have a drop in quality.
Its one more excuse post because you know replacements is not an easy thing. So, we have Bruno Pogba Donny Mata for the attacking role. What else do you want, to buy Grealish of De Bruine to rotate with Bruno? Ole couldn't rotate the attacking midfielder position better with the quality he has? Upfront with Kavani Mason Martial Rashford Mata James he couldn't rest Rashford for 5 more games?

They don't all have to be left out of the same games. Lots of times we have had a cb on the bench.
We could have rested bruno or rashford in the 10 games we havn't scored in for example or in any of they games they have been crap in.
It really is very waring your insistence that the options are limited. There are lots of options we can go back to the start of the season when you were talking up our squad and the potential it had. How well ole has shaped it. Now its the opposite your preaching. Its tiresome imo.
Lots of options. The truth is ole has refused to use the options.
How many posts did you write praising Williams in the last 18 months?
How many praising dvb?
Bailly on our bench 7 times this season
Tuanzabe on our bench 9 times.
How many posts have you praised greenwood in?
James been available most of the season.
Matic mata very under utilised.
Most games we could accommodate 2 or 3 of these players.
You have lauded most of these players at one time or another and now they are not even an option? Just so you can defend a most ridiculous point of view.
How is dvb not an option? The player you have praised so often. Tuanzabe another you have called for could have started more games to rest maguire.
Again you cannot deny the options are there. Ole has been ignoring the players and not utilising them that's his prerogative. He will have his own reasons for that but the reason will not be because he didn't have the option.

Just off the top of my head in the past 6 weeks or so.

For heavans sake ole was bemoaning not getting 5 subs. He hardly uses 3 and almost never before 80 mins.
His choice is not to use his options.
How many different cb and fb pairings have city used this season.
How many midfield?
Front 3?
They all slot in and out of the team shape seamlessly.
City won a league with Delph playing lb.
Williams played in most of our good run last season.
James has added life recently.
V Palace why not start him on left and leave a badly out of form rashford on the bench. A very viable option given James form.

Absolutely Ken, Ole was moaning that EPL should have allowed 5 subs.
But he hardly makes any sub.

Van Dyke has played more minutes than VDB.
We are just not using our squad depth wisely.
VDB, Tuanzebe, Brandon should have definitely been given more game time.

The same thing happened at the end of last season. He didn't utilise the squad properly, we limped out of 3 cup competitions and got over the finish line on the last day.

We've now added Cavani, Telles and VDB and we're still having the same problems. Plus a livewire like Diallo on the bench.

But poor Ole. When will he ever catch a break. He manages little old Man Utd. A terrible squad. No chance to rotate because we have too many games. Big mean Manchester City won't stop winning.

We were undercooked according to Jred at the start of the season. We're over cooked now!

Shappy - "back up for them few players represents a massive drop off in quality", who rarely play. Talking about CBs we have seen how Tuanzebe was overlooked after his fantastic performance vs PSG and both Bailly/ Tuanzebe even when available were not used much anyhow.

Even if we don't have quality options on the bench as you say, Ole still has to rotate his players to risk any injuries or exhaustion, you can't just suck the life out of them. Bad player management either way.

The fact is Ole is not flexible to any changes in the way he sets up his team which depends on individual performances rather than a team effort. If the team was coached to perform as a unit rather than relying on individuals the team would easily adapt to player rotations. Unfortunately that's not the case.

Jred I agree that they should be played more often than not if and when they are playing like your best players. But when you have an opportunity to rest them you should. They play more than the best players in any other teams. League cup and EL also, even in dead rubbers.
Lots of opportunity to sub them when games are won too.
As I said its oles choice to do that my point with shappy is that he has other options he just chooses to play these guys more.
