Just because one player doesn't see a map into the first team does not mean others dont.

Hannibal and elanga have renewed, shoretire renewed, 3 really good prospects.

I've said many times about ole currently has a lot to learn and at the moment I don't see him taking us much further, but that doesn't mean he has done a bad job because he has done a good job.

Also at then end of the season managers go away and re plan and work on themselves and what the team needs etc.

New season new chance, I just feel ole deserves one more season and maybe if he gets its right and learns on the job then I feel he will win over some of the supporters who have never given him a chance since day one and follow with the media agenda.

I think getting some experience in his coaching staff is crucial, I think he needs a top defensive coach and a top technical coach who can help mould the team together as as a unit when in possession to help keep the ball better.

Big V

He needs Rio and a Meulensteen type in his coaching team. Ole has done a decent job with the spirit but tactically only has one trick.

BIG V, then the question would be if Ole would be willing to or is flexible to work with more experienced coaches that he probably doesn't know. And would those coaches be willing to work with Ole?

Has the club now become a place for interns to learn on the job and that too without proper qualifications probably. To be honest most of us did want to give him time to prove his worth but he has not shown enough to suggest he is really learning much to take this club places.

The reality is that there are around 20 lads in the under 23's and another 20 in the Under 18's.

So how do you expect 40 lads to make it in a 25 man squad over the next few years?

Truth is very few will make it, the players need three things to happen for them to make it into the first team.

1. they need to have the talent to make it at the highest level.

2. they need to have the right mentality.

3. they need there to be a chance to make it in the first team, they need a path AND they need to take their chances when given that chance.

The issue is that to have a path into the first team means having a gap in the first team for them to step into.

If you want Mengi to have a path into the first team then the club needs to sell a CB and not replace them to make that space for Mengi.

If you want Garner to have a path into the first team then you need the club to sell a midfielder and not sign another one.

On one hand fans say we need better squad players and better first teamers. They want the club to make 4-5 signings most summers. But you can't do that AND create a path into the first team.

We have a bloated squad, but one where the quality between the first 11 and the rest drops off quite a bit.

The reality is though that very few if any managers will play a kid like Mengi in an important game if Jones is fit. plus with Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and Tuanzebe ahead of him he will inly get a chance if there are injuries.

Rashford got his chance due to injuries, and more importantly he took it.

McTominay got his chance due to injuries, and he took it.

Williams got his chance due to injuries and he took it.

Greenwood got his chance because we didn't sign a RW and he took it.

If you want to see Diallo succeed then maybe we shouldn't sign a RW this summer.

A path into the first team equals a gap in the squad.

I agree shaps, also last season we didn't have a proper pre season to help integrate any youth Into the team and spend some time with them.
