I have read reports that we have put in a bid for Marcos Llorente and that we are interested in Tielemans. Maybe they are just rumours. Two excellent players no doubt. But should we not concert our efforts into acquiring a deep-lying midfielder who will allow our more creative players to do their stuff? One holding midfielder, along with a new quality centre back, would surely make a huge difference to improving both our defending and our goal potential.

Dont know about that but I agree CH and DM would make a world of difference . I would go very radical and build from the back over couple of seasons.

For next season :

Maguire is going nowhere but I would make him earn his position, sell Darmian, Bailly Lindelof, Lingard, perrira. to fund 2 centre halves . jones, Rojo romero going or gone and bring in :

Pau Torres - left footed CH -Flavour of the month
Milenkovivic right footed beast of a CH -flavour of the month.
Scrap it out with Maguire for starting spot

If they can settle in PL would be great .

Zero net spend with the above players gone

This reported or mythical 80-90m we have to spend i'd go

Rice or Ndidi
Max Arrons . to share position with AWB.

Solid at the back, Rice would bring the best out of DVB --played many times as a no 6 . or Garner or McT

Shaw and Aarons going forward give us a new threat and the chances would increase for Rashford, greenwood, martial. diallo, Cavani

Ive purposely avoided the whole what about the keepers, what about Pogba leaving what about Fred and martial getting axed . just concentrating on 4 changes that would improve us greatly

If Pogba goes or Martial that's a different dynamic but this would make us solid, more free flowing, quicker attack minded, more exciting

Not sure how my interview went for technical director -I haven't heard back. will let you know.

The only way I see us going in for Llorente is if both Pogba and VDB are moved on.

Even if both Pogba/ VDB are moved on where does he play? With the way Ole sets up his team with 2 CM's in front of his defense, Llorente is not the sort of player who would be willing to sit back most times and he would be wasted there.

Unless we also manage to bring in a DM and CB I don't see the point in bringing him in.

And at the price of €80 million being reported for a 26yr old I really don't see the value in him as he doesn't look exceptional or really special. And there's no guarantee he is going to succeed in the PL so it might be a risk as well.
