I wonder if any of the eds can shed any light on the rumoured new super league and why the suggested teams think it is better than the current set ups of national leagues and eufa competitions

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ed but rich fat cats getting fatter isn't likely to benefit the majority of clubs and potentially alienate fans who just like things as they are. I don't disagree that eufa and fifa maybe need something like this to shake up their power bases. They are surely currently their own closed shop but not sure this is the best option.

{Ed002's Note - You are making this sound like something new. These ideas are discussed regularly and folks from China and the US all want to offer up a money making idea. Only last year Manchester United and Liverpool’s owners conspired over Project Bigfoot. The Liverpool owners want to start building a soccer empire and have linked up with Damian Comolli’s Toulouse after selling more than 10% of their business. Other clubs have different drivers - the Spanish clubs to get out of their huge financial holes. All the rights would be traded to JP Morgan for underwriting funding for x years.}

Yea it's no longer about clubs who have formed out of works teams it's all about big business and making money. I find that sad.

I guess that's what happens when clubs are run by bankers, investors and economists.

{Ed0666's Note - you spelt bankers incorrectly mate
