Ed002 if i may ask who do you think is seen as Ed Woodwards replacement? I mean any candidates shortlisted? Secondly do you think the amateurs at Man Utd will still be amateurs or do you see this to change with Woodwards replacement

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think the club will have addressed that just yet. It will in all probability someone you have never heard of.}

I won't be surprised if it s someone from inside the club. I think Glazers would want someone who they know well and trust, like maybe Richard Arnold perhaps?

I do not believe Woodward intended to leave at the end of the season as has been suggested. Why would he invest so much into the ESL to consider leaving. I believe he/ they misjudged the strength of feeling and he's found his position untenable. Hence there won't have been any forward planning for his replacement.
Hopefully somebody as financially astute as him for sponsors etc going forward but a DOF to liaise with manager/ coach.

ED002,

Do you think Woodward leaving is positive for the club?

Also they need to appoint someone who knows what they are doing.

{Ed002's Note - The fans have always found it easy to blame EW for everything but that has always been wrong. I think the club need more of a shake but they have already leapt forward and made two other recent appointments - so I suspect it will take more than just a simple replacement to get everything back on track.}

Thanks Ed002, value your opinion on these things.

Also, from reading between the lines from your comments, you seem a very moral person who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, so would imagine that you probably feel very strongly about the greed underpinning the ESL. (Though guess we all know professional football is motivated by money but just choose to ignore it. )

Do you think this failed project will have any repercussions on the Glazers attitude towards the club, such as reducing investment/ funds needed for improving the team, or even selling the club now the golden goose has left the building?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure my wives would agree about my morals. The Glazers will be smarting and regrouping but it is too early to say what will happen. They will no doubt watch what happens with the various meetings scheduled this week.}

Thanks for swift reply Ed002! Always appreciate your informed opinions.

That sounds ominous: dare say, as successful ruthless businessmen, they’re sore about losing this one and will be plotting something else, either to wring more cash out of the game or just to send a belligerent message that they should treated like this again.

{Ed002's Note - They won't be plotting anything for a while - they need to decide on the way forward following this mess. They will no doubt be speaking with FSG and Kroenke but early indications will be coming from the "elite clubs", the Italian FA (although Inter jave just stepped back), the Spanish FA (noting Atletico have just stepped back), the ECA and the UEFA Executive.}

Richard Arnold, knowing our luck it more than likely going to be Arnold from Different Strokes.
