Ed002, I don't know enough about what Edwin has been up to at Ajax, but I see he has been linked with replacing Ed Woodward.

Do you think that is viable and do you think Edwin would be a good choice for the role?

I know most fans would jump at the idea of having a former player in such a role, I wouldn't mind as long as he is a good fit for the role.

Do you expect United to make an internal appointment such as Richard Arnold like they did with John Murtough, or are they likely to look for someone with a fresh perspective.

My gut says that after the fall out of the ESL they will want to keep it in house with the people they know and trust.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United have recently appointed John Murtough as a Director of Football but if Manchester United simply want someone to work the commercial side then Edwin Van Der Sar would not be a particularly stupid choice - as whilst he has no relevant experience as a Director of Football his commercial capabilitities would be fine. A nice package if he comes as a pair with Marc Overmars as coach perhaps.}

Overmars as coach? Thought he was a DOF 002?

{Ed002's Note - How many Directors of Football does Manchester United need - they have just appointed one.}

Sorry Ed I assumed coach was a mistype.
