Thoughts on Rangers and Celtic joining the Premier League and or League Cup?

I'm all for the League cup. not for the EPL unless they start at the bottom.

Feel like it would destroy Scottish football and would need to go with some wider changes like Ed002 has mentioned such as regional league and less professional clubs.

Maybe in the early 2000s it would have made a lot of sense as if I remember correctly both were really strong and had some great players.

However, off late it really is just the two of them. The quality has fallen off a good bit in Scotland I think? I don’t watch the games just going off what some friends say. Not sure it makes sense anymore, but it would be interesting.

In light of the ESL debacle this past week I see very little chance of this happening any time soon. The Scottish teams (other than Rangers/ Celtic) would not vote for it as it would destroy the Scottish game from a revenue point of view. I don't see how the English clubs (outside of the 6 ESL teams) that would vote for it considering the statements they have made this past week.
An expansion across England/ Scotland for all clubs might have been an option but with the political landscape the way it is up North it could be that independence is back on the agenda which surely would prevent this as well.

Hi utd Road and caolan.
Both clubs have the fan base and potential to be top clubs. However due to the finances available to them they can't compete on the European stage and their current squads would struggle in the epl.
I'm of am opinion that there should be combined league structure of maybe 3 divisions for the likes of the Dutch Belgian scots Polish maybe even french and Portuguese leagues. All those ladies really are struggling and only have 2 or 3 teams dominating in each country. It could become a very powerful and competitive league. None of their current leagues are.

Caolan, Scottish football has been a two horse race for longer than most people remember. The last time a team other than Celtic or Rangers won the league, I was just starting school and Sir Alex was their manager. I am now 41 and the rest you know.
