Firstly, I will never condone violence. Its a fact that when you get a crowd together, there will always be a few idiots. But let's not let the minority tarr the majority. The majority of fans were well behaved.

Personally, I'm delighted the game got called off. The owners have to take notice now. Yesterday was about taking back our club. Our game. Souness talking rubish about inciting violence and riots. The same man who planted the flag in the middle of the pitch at Galatasary?

We have all put money into the United machine over the decades. We have followed our team everywhere. Paid through the nose for some tickets or the 3rd home shirt in 3 years etc. They have taken the piss out of fans for so long that the super league was the straw that broke the camels back. They have no respect for the institution of the game and the history of our clubs. We are not franchises. We are clubs. They are nothing without fans paying into their business model. If a consumer is unhappy with the product, you have a right to complain. 2005 and 2011 we had protests. How did they get on? What was the outcome? Nothing.

Protests are supposed to be inconvenient to the people being targeted. They are to make a statement. Anyone saying they should all stay outside and make their voices heard are living in a dream land. what's the point in that? Have you not heard 70,000 people in Old Trafford sing build a bonfire? I have. Numerous times. Guess what? They are still here.

I see the club put out barriers as they knew the protest was coming? Did they hire extra security? Na. More penny pinching. Have you looked around the stadium? Our stadium? There was a time that we had the only 5* club stadium in the country. Now, its a joke. From the rust, to the leaking roof, to the cheap looking fittings and fixtures. I've been to the spurs stadium and it puts ours to shame.

Again, I don't condone the violence. There are idiots in every crowd. But i'm proud of each and every fan that attended and made them listen.

Its our club. Our history. They might be caretakers of the business side but they don't own the fans.

We decide when you play.

I applaud the protest but not the violence or damage - it deflects from the cause and gives knobheads like souness and lineker bait.
I hope there's not stupid penalties or sanctions on the back of this by governing bodies.

Honestly Funky, wouldn't bother me if they did. If they took us out of top 4 I wouldn't be too upset as I know it would mess with the owners business model and make them feel the pinch.

James - the thing is that alone wouldn't make them feel it too much- they still get their dividends, could re allocate shares etc and could also effect the loan repayments/ finance and therefore make us even more of a laughing stock.
It is nothing new and they sit 3000 mile away from the people who really care.
It shows how much of danger we are in as a club becoming a forgotten hero when we are championed by shearer and carragher: although they are not keen on man utd they realise the efeect it could have on the club, league and football. The premier league and fa still haven't clarified the stance on the esl and constantly refer to sanctions and actions. The media are loading with the esl disaster but in our case it goes way back to the original takeover and the running down of the club and assets by people who don't care.
