There was a moment early on where Rashford's first touch let him down. He lost possession when he should have been able to run at the defense, and got an ankle knock into the bargain. That summed up his game. He was dreadful.

Ole put on his "best" 11 available players, eschewing the McFred partnership, but they simply were't good enough to unlock a really well organized defense, for which one must give Emery and Villareal some credit. They did what a number of "inferior" teams have done over the last few years to stunt United's points of attack, knowing that we rarely exhibit the flexibility, tight control, team work, and passing skills to unpick a packed defense.

It made for a boring frustrating game. Ole had no plan B. Yes, he might have tried something else earlier, but I honestly doubt it would have made a difference. On the other hand, not trying something to change the pattern leaves you open to criticism. Truth is that on the night, our "stars": Rashford, Bruno, Pogba did not show up. The only player that looked good was McTominay. And that pretty much says it all.

De gea hadn't saved a pen since April 2016. Why hadn't he the b@lls to sub him off.
I'm afraid ole has taken united as far as he can go.

It was so naive from Ole not to hook off Rashford earlier.
He doesn't seem to learn on the job at all.

Donny should've come on for Fred. But he went negative again.

Leahy, shouldn't have even come down to penalties. Hooking off a GK is uncommon, I don't blame de gea.

Manager is at fault once again, he was clueless last night against a very ordinary Villarreal team.

I'm afraid it's only going to get worse for us with Ole in charge.

It doesn't really matter if we say he has taken us as far as he can and all say on here he must go and it's a joke if not etc, he isn't going anywhere.

But that's the problem isn't it GDS? "Fans" protest on Glazer's ownership. Why not protest on Ole? Afterall Ole is the man who is responsible for the 90 minutes of our entertainment every week. He isn't delivering that.

He will probably get a 5 year contract next week. Ole in for 5 more years. The board will give him a pay rise as well.

So are you suggesting now that all protests and voicing opinion against the owners should stop as its pointless?

I have never said that protests will make a difference, I have said that I understand why people are doing them. I also understand why people are saying they want Ole sacked, I am saying it makes no difference as he won’t be. Like you accepted the protests make no difference. We are 100% in total agreement, know you don’t want to hear that.

it can make a difference. The correct sort of engagement with the owners can make a difference too but only if they are willing to be fair.
