Whatever your views on whether you like or dislike Pep i think it is indisputable that he knows how to implement his ideas and put in place a structure so that his teams win trophies.

More importantly he seems to improve all the players he works with and brings through youngsters too. He is a manager but more than that he is a real coach.

If I were hiring a new manager I would want him to be able to improve the players already at the club to fulfil their potential. How often does a new manager demand wads of cash to spend on new signings.

I bet if Pep was in charge of this Utd squad we would have won something by now. Wd DO have a squad with some very talented players.
Talent alone however will never bring long term success. Players need a manager / coach who is tactically aware and drills his squad so rhat they all understand their roles amd can adapt mid match to deal with differing circumstances. Those basic things are missing with Ole.

I don't want us to spend another 200 million. I would ratjher we promoted from the youth and that the manager implemented a playing style so that they flourish

Alas i donr believe this will happen. Certainly not with Ole.

{Ed002's Note - Any coach being interviewed will ask about available funds and how the transfer policy is implemented (e.g. will he be involved).

Just on the Pep coaching thing, the man had a proper overhaul of the then existing City team to end up winning his first title there.

He might be a great coach, but he needs the right players to coach and hence he buys the kind of players he can work with.

I doubt Pep would have come to City if the board had said that they have money to spend on players.

I really do believe that they have a player in Hannibal that should now be pressing for a starting spot. This kid has all the talent in the world and in my opinion is better than both Fred and Mctominay.
Ole needs to pull his head out of his ar*se and stop persisting with this ridiculous two defensive midfielders selection.
All this kid needs is a run, he has everything. Great passer, can tackle, can run with the ball and has an eye for a defence splitting pass.

Ed 002 I understand that. The point i was trying to make is that we need a manager who can really coach a team not just spend loads of money on big named players. By all means pay what it takes to get the cream but utilise them properly and at the same time integrate the best of the youth players into a team which plays in a structured way.

Salford to go on from your post- we need a strong knowledgable manager who can organise coaches that are capable. Goalkeeping, defence, midfield tactician and forward coach. A good strong youth leader who can bring the younguns to the manager ready to try out. Fergie at various times had good people around him, quroz, muelinstein mcclaren who was highly rated as a coach. Forget Kidd he turned blue, but that is where we need to start. It looks like OGS picks eleven and tells them" go and have a kick about lads" ;no direction.

I prefer a team to be a mixture of the academy's top youths who've come through, a few seasoned old-timers and world class players at the top of their game. On paper we have the former two for sure, but are lacking with the world class options. Fernandes, Pogba, Cavani. um.
