So apparently Varane is keen on a move to United because he feels it's time for a new challenge.

If he wants a new challenge then why not walk to the North pole, climb Everest, solve Brexit, end world hunger, convince the Anti-vaxxers that the government aren't trying to control their minds with vaxs.

You know, a challenge that is actually achievable 🤣🤣🤣.

He has literally won everything and is at his peak.

Perfectly compliments Maguire's lack of pace.

varane imo would complete the defense as slow as maguire is he needs a partner to compliment him as TRD said he would do that perfectly add to the fact he has great awareness on the pitch

and for the price being touted he is a bargain.

I actually think we have a good squad with a reasonable average age that is ready to compete for the biggest trophies with a couple of first team ready signings this summer.

If we get Sancho and a CB like Varane, no one can say Ole hasn't been backed properly, hell have signed a whole new back 4 as well as two key attacking players.

The two in midfield (Fred and Mctominey) are still the main concern for me. They loose the ball far to much with slack passing or getting caught dawdling on the ball.
I would have Hannibal in ahead of Fred or Mctominay all the time. Better passer, more composed on the ball, can actually pass the ball forward instead of sideways and backwards. This kid is a major talent in my opinion. Given the chance by Ole i really think he can break in to the first 11 this season.

Hannibal is too young. He looks extremely talented. It would be good to ease him and Garner into the first team via the league Cup and some CL group games, should we qualify with game or two to spare.

Fred can win the ball back, but often and almost immediately gives the ball back to the opposition. Hopefully at the start of the season we go out to play attacking football and ditch 2 X DM.

Yh he's only been a key part of two champions league wins at Real Madrid and a key part of the world cup win with France. i don't get the hype either.

He definitely has the ability. I think there's been a few games where he's looked a bit shaky and gotten caught on the ball / given it away under pressure.

I'm not convinced he would solve all of our defensive problems as Maguire is still a liability. But he would be an excellent buy if we can get the best out of him.

I thought Ole had suggested there would be one marquee signing and maybe one or two others. Assuming Sancho is the big one, I’d say £60m for Varane is unlikely and we should be looking a few rungs down the ladder!
