According to various reports pogba has rejected our contract offer and expressed his desire to move on. hopefully now the club shows some sense and sells him this summer! To keep him hostage as ed002 has said doesn't make any sense either commercially or football wise. Offload him for a few Quid now if possible rather than letting him walk next year and have to put up with the constant media fallout in the meantime.

Frankly I'm confused as to why the club even contemplate a new contract. Having previously stated his desire to be elsewhere why is he still here? Bizarre.

Just get rid once and for all. Spend the money and a decent central midfielder like Goretzka. Sick and tired of this Paul Pogba circus.

In an ideal world someone would have an honest conversation with Pogba and understand what he wants (stay on big money/ leave for PSG/ leave for Juventus) and then work together to achieve that goal. Keeping him if he does not want to be here will kick us long term as we will receive no fee for him and potentially you get a player who is not fully committed in his final year. If possible the club need this to happen as soon as possible and not get too greedy in the process.
Once that happens they should trust the management team and scouts that they could adequately replace Pogba, either with more responsibility for Van Dyke or by bringing another player in. On the whole I think the players brought in recently have been the right ones (certainly the right positions) so have faith that this will happen again. Also, just because we paid £80+ for Pogba we are not losing a player that currently is worth that much to the team. reality is that with good scouting he can be replaced with a good sensible purchase.

Swap deal with Varane?

I think what we are seeing with Pogba and Raiola is a player and agent who have now priced themselves out of a dream move to Real Madrid or a romantic move back to Juventus. Every time they accepted a ridiculous contract from United they moved further away to the move I think everyone knows Pogba wanted. It would seem PSG is the only realistic move for him this summer in terms of a club that will offer him the wages he wants and pay a fee United would accept. If Pogba goes to PSG it's another club he'll be playing for but doesn't really have the desire to play for and his ''peak age'' playing career will be with 2 clubs where his heart has never really been into. If he goes there this summer and gives them 3 years he'll be 31 by the time he potentially makes his next move, would he still get one of the 2 moves he wants at that age? I think it is fair to say Ronaldo is a exception to the rules before people use him as an example.

Now he could go on a free next summer which would allow clubs to offer him a larger contract but he will be 29 and there are a lot of very good younger midfielders who would be cheaper and also offer longer term prospects. De Jong, Bissouma, Groetzka, Kimmich, Locatelli and Camavinga for example and no doubt a few I have missed.

I would take £50M for him this summer, think with Pogba gone, the balance of the starting 11 is better with the personnel we have and considering we have only had a handful of great games from Pogba, I don't think we are losing much if he leaves. Pogba leaving also doesn't change the fact we need a defensive or more disciplined minded CM. For me, if Neves was available for £35M I'd go for him. I think he would be similar to when we got Carrick in, not the traditional defensive midfielder everyone wants but a disciplined CM who can keep possession and link the defence and attack. Hopefully VDB will get more chances as well with Pogba moved on.

It's a situation complicated by the people who run the club. On one hand he has said he wants to leave, but then many players have said that to their clubs only to happily sign a new deal on larger terms than they were previously offered. Keane and Rooney have done that in the past, while we did once hold discussions with Ramos's agent when he told Real Madrid he wanted to leave 4-5 years ago.

So it's not always a case of a player really wanting to leave even when they say they do.

While apparently Pogba has been an ideal player in training, working hard, in good spirits and doesn't bad mouth the club. So it's not like he's acting out to force a move.

Yet I think it is clear he wants to try something different and in an ideal world the club would have facilitated a move. While they might not have been fully happy with the offers they were made from other clubs, the response should have been to open up negotiations rather than refuse to discuss it. Like we have seen with the clubs attempts to sign players from other clubs they seem to have this mentality that they can bully clubs and players to do what they want. Which in reality has never really worked out well for the club.

Pogba should have left a couple of season's ago, while the clubs stance has caused the total breakdown of a relationship with one of the worlds top agents. Possibly removing the option to sign players attached to Mino. Players like Donnarumma, De Ligt, Haaland, Verratti, Gravenberch, Malen, Thuram and many more. While Mino's actions contribute to the issue, it would be foolish to consider our club devoid of any responsibility to the current bad blood between them. It takes two to argue.

Hopefully the club can do the right thing and let Pogba leave this summer, PSG according to reports look like a possible destination, while I'd imagine some sort of deal could be fashioned with Juventus, although I'd expect it would need to involve a player or two in swap. The rumours that we seems to be inquiring about multiple midfielders suggests that we might see one leaving this summer.

Rumour is that PSG have to shift some players to make space and get pogba in: wouldn't mind icardi if he is a possibility and the the funds from, periera, lingard, dalot to bring in midfielder say neves. That along with the sancho, varane deals would be a pretty decent window.

Funky, I wouldn't go anywhere near Icardi. He's a good player no doubt, but his Misses/ agent/ pain in everyone's ass will come along with him.

There are a few players I'd take from PSG, sadly I doubt they would be prepared to include players like Mbappe or Marquinhos. On the whole I don't think player swaps are a good idea, rarely do both sides really benefit from them.

Prisoners demand Pizza

maybe we could look to a similar sort of deal for our 'hostage'.

Just keep the ransom away from Luke Shaw.
