So City allegedly looking to sign Kane. They are doing exactly what we used to do when on top. go out and bring in more top quality to improve the team.

Chelsea have spent a lot of money on good signings during C.V. No doubt they will be doing all they can to sign the very best

Meantime we are likely to lose a world class player in Pogba offset by the signing of a world class Sancho? But our midfield is weak bith creatively and defensively. Our defence needs strengthening too

Being realistic unless we get a couple of surprise signings i think we are looking at a top four finish at best.

Pogba world class? Maybe 4 times a year.

Salford Pogba world class do me a favour. He’s flattered to deceive for 5 years. Get rid Good riddance I say. He’s only world class in his own head. Not fit to lace some of our previous midfielders.

I don't mind losing a world class player who performs every now and then. We need to bring in a DM and Donny probably replaces Pogba.

Welcome Sancho.

If we sell Pogba, it may be the best thing to come from this window regardless of signing Sancho or Varane.

One of the best midfielders around at the top of his game, however, he's also a total liability at other points. That is not the kind of player we should be aiming to build around any more.

Still have no doubt it'll be Pogba starting wide left on the first day of the season mind you.

What is this infatuation with Paul Pogba being world class it's just ridiculous. Messi is world class, Ronaldo is world class, Zidane was world class, Brazilian Ronaldo was world class, Maradona was world class to name a few. World class just gets thrown about to much these days.
He's been sh*t for 5 years. end of!
I would drive Paul Pogba to Paris myself and pay the petrol money.
Paul. if you need a lift i have plenty of room in my Volkswagen Tiguan.

tbh guys, just my opinion but kane is class but has been on the slight decline for 2 seasons. Granted he still can score but he is not the fearsome stiker of 2 seasons ago. Injured more than usual and taking longer to recover I think the risk is too much at the prices mooted.

Salford, Kane while a top class player would be (if he signs for them) coming in to replace their all time leading goal scorer Sergio Aguero who has left City this summer.

We can argue whether Kane is currently better than Aguero, or a better or worst fit for how City play etc. But it's not like they'd be adding an additional top class player to their squad, just one in one out.

Personally in a odd sort of way I hope they get Kane. City are a top side who go out to sign top players. if they don't get Kane this summer then they will definitely be in the mix for Haaland next summer. Personally I'd be more concerned about them getting Haaland than Kane. While Kane is still probably the better player currently, his injury record along with his age means anyone signing him this summer is likely to get 3 maybe 4 years of top class regular performances from him. If City sign Haaland then they probably have the best out and out striker in the world for the next decade.

There’s a part of me that wonders if Guardiola will be able to handle the players motivation/ morale/ egos if they sign Kane. What I mean is although a top class signing, it could cause some unrest. Already there are talks of Sterling and a couple of others being used as a swap which could cause some unrest if they don’t want to be used as part of it, players like Jesus, Torres maybe thinking it’s there turn to step up in to Augero’s role. He’s never really had to deal with bringing in what you would expect to be a definite starter on huge wages at either Barcelona or Bayern so managing the dynamics could be interesting.

Funny isn't it how big teams like PSG Juve Utd and Madrid are quite willing to fork out millions in wages for Pogba. They obv rate him as world class. Watch him shine if he does move to another club who play him in his preferred position.

{Ed077's Note - Juve pay millions in wages for Ramsey, Man Utd pay above 100k to Phil Jones for crying out loud (as per reports should I add) and RM are financially crippled due to their unwise expenses...

My point is just because "top" teams are interested in a player doesnt make him a World class footballer by default.}

Salford7, so in that case we have signed the most world class players since Fergie left, looking at the millions we have forked out on them.

I stand by what i say. Put Pogba in a team which has a sound defensive base allowing him to deploy his attacking strengths and then judge him. This happened whilst he was with Juve and he won titles with them and got great reviews. Likewise in the french world cup winning team.

Yes Utd have spent fortunes on second rate players but that doesn't mean he himself is not world class. Juve PSG Madrid would most certainly not have bought most of our recent purchases. That just evidences how piir our recruitment was post Fergie. The fact they all woukd like Pogba now and pay big bucks in C.V. cash strapped times proves they rate him highly.

{Ed014's Note - Pogba is nothing like world class, he has to be the biggest waste of money ever and the most over rated!

Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva regularly showed Pogba what true class was.

It's so sick and tiring hearing about Pogba. Some of his fans even insulting United saying "the club doesn't deserve him; he is bigger than the club" and what not.

Pogba needs a list of pre-requisites for performing:

1. Perfect weather - warm with a mild cool breeze and perfect sunshine that's not too bright.
2. Pitch - soft, perfectly cut grass that is comfy to stroll around.
3. Teammates - that can cover ground for him and probably WC
4. Formation - that suits him to linger around and doesn't need to break a sweat.
5. Role - he decides

The simple fact is World Class players perform consistently on the pitch no matter what.
