There we have it, Ole signs a new 3 year deal until 2024 with the option of a further year until 2025.

The club is really backing him, new long term contract, and they seem to be spending on top choices in the transfer market, potentially spending more than they ever have in a season where they have achieved UCL qualification.

I wouldn't expect to see him get sacked unless either he fails to make top four or the fans revolt against him and demand it, planes flying over OT and the like.

Looks like we might get another couple of years of Ole at the wheel yet.

Atleast the constant bickering and entertainment value of this page will continue.

He was never going to get sacked and going into a season with a manager towards the end of his contract helps nobody so it’s hardly a surprise. Sure there will be plenty of moaning though.

They are protecting an asset for when Barcelona want him.

Like him or loathe him he is here at least another season, most likely until he fails to get top four.

Worst news I could have woken up to. Ruined my day!

Love him or loathe him he’s our manager and needs our support.

I fully expected him to sign a new deal but it changes nothing. The fans won't tolerate his defensive philosophy, they won't tolerate his lack of ambition much longer. He's hopefully getting the tools to mount a serious title challenge this season.

He's running out of excuses and another season being 20 points off the top and being humiliated in cup competeions won't end well for him.

Ah well not a great surprise let's hope the football improves and that we concentrate on winning rather than avoiding defeat.

We can hate him all we want but for a manager who has a “lack of experience”, we’ve achieved 2nd and 3rd in his tell seasons anf let’s be honest, city and arguable Liverpool are a better team than us.

Trumours, Klopp closed the gap on City within a few years. Over the last few years we have a higher net spend than any club in the world. The manager will have signed 4/ 5 defenders, 1 midfielder, 1 attacking midfielder, 2 right wingers and a forward (not including Igalho) .

The history books don't give a crap about 2nd and 3rd place finish. All tgey will show from his stewardship is one Europa League Final loss to a mid table Spanish team.

Every excuse iv read to defend Ole over the last few years have no relevance anymore. He's been backed more than any manager and has delivered nothing!

Think I'd put Chelsea well above Utd in the mix Trumors. For me, looking at the teams right now Utd are fourth best.

We're just lucky Mourinho managed to screw up Spurs before he left or top 4 would already look like best case scenario. Not sure Rafa has the tools at his disposal at Everton otherwise they could be on the up too.

However I still feel Ole deserves to be the manager this season and it looks like the side will get at least 2-3 players who improve what we have.

Pogba and the goalkeeping situation still look very undecided, I guess there could be developments in the coming weeks.

Mumbles, yes, over a few years.

Ole has had 2 full seasons, he improved from the first year and finished above Klopp this year? As long as we’re improving I don’t care. That said, of course we should be competing this year and challenging for trophies. Let’s give him the chance.

As much as I want him gone Trumours I have no qualms with him managing this season. I just find it curious that some posters are using this contract as a clean bill of health. I think he's under more pressure this season and has nowhere to hide.

We are well in the mix this year guys, stop worrying about everyone else. I am really looking forward to this next year.

Totally agree mumbles and rightfully so. Nowhere to hide as he’s been backed and moving to his third full season. No excuses now and a poor season he will probably be gone.

Why does everyone think he is hiding? He is not hiding, he is building a title winning squad.

Just believe!

Perhaps he’ll have a good season. A little early to be assembling the lynch mob.
