West Ham rumoured to be looking at an approach for Lindgard and £30 million been mentioned. If that happens and we can sell Pogba for £50 million then maybe either Saul or Rice can be looked at?

Think we’d be lucky to get £10m for Pogba, but getting his wages off the books is worth more than any transfer fee. To be honest, I wouldn’t be devastated if he stayed as I think he can still do a job for us, but if it’s a case of keeping him or signing a more disciplined midfielder, I think I know which most fans would pick. It’s a shame, as the lad clearly has talent, but he’s never looked like he wanted to be at the club and has squandered much of his obvious potential.

If we are going to 4-3-3 next season, I think we’ll still see EITHER McTominay or Fred at the base. I very much doubt we can afford a top class DM, especially as we look likely to lose PP, which will in turn mean we need a new ‘8’ style midfielder.

My betting is that the three in midfield next season are:
McTom/ Fred (6)
Saul/ VdBeek (8)
Bruno/ Lingard (8)

I think having already spent 110m on Sancho and Varane we will need to make some back to balance the books.

Even if Pogba leaves I don't see us as having a huge budget for a midfielder. 30-40m probably tops I would imagine. Especially if we still want to sign a RB as well.

We have apparently been speaking to several agents and sounded out several players, Saul, Neves, Camavinga etc. I suspect the one that can be brought for the best (cheapest) price might be the one we end up with more or less.

We don't make any money on Pogba right? If anything, he maybe just frees up a good chunk of change from the wage bill.

It would be great if he were to be let go though, allowing us the opportunity to go out and sign a proper CM to play with DVB.
