Pogba is allegedly prepared to consider staying longer term at Utd but won't sign a contract extension this window.

Questions arise from this

Is it just a ploy to keep all his options open
Is it a ploy to drive his price down now
Is it a ploy so that he can leave on a free next year
Is it a ploy to get an even bigger wage from Utd

Whatever the motivation Utd are left the losers.

I know things don't always appear true to the reality of how things are but if Pogba loves the club and wants to stay then he should come out and say so. Be honest and open and my respect for him would increase. If he wants yo go then its a free world and go but do it with class and consideration for the club and fans.

One last general point. Whilst most people want to maximise their earnings the truth is elite footballers will earn more in a month than many do in a lifetime. Pogba should never need to worry about his financial future. Nor shouls his agent. They have both made millions. So when will they realise that money is not everything and that it cannot buy yiu a good reputation?

{Ed002's Note - The situation is as has been explained.}

Pogba has never been in any way connected to the club in a way that you could say he had any form of loyalty. We wasn't his first choice when he left juve and he certainly has no loyalty to the club since. He knows ole is useless and he wants his move. If we don't take an offer this summer we're stupid.

If Pogba is reluctant to sign a new contract immediately, then surely he is not committed to the club. Therefore, the club would I feel be foolish to allow things to coast. I'm not saying that Pogba isn't trustworthy. I just don't kniow if he is but I have serious doubts about his agent. The pragmatic decision would have to be to move him on if possible.

Who says he has a bad reputation, everyone whos worked with him only has positive things to say about even mourinho who he didn't see eye to eye with him.

The guys a quality player and if he stays were a better team for it. Would not be surprised if he signed a new deal.

Footballers do earn more in a year than we could ever in a lifetime but they also spend more than we spend in a lifetime. There were reports of players spending 300k at a lunch this summer. So whilst I do abhor how much they earn, you can’t blame them also for wanting to maintain a lifestyle they’re used to by getting the best deal they can. I sincerely doubt PP will stay in football either as a coach/ manager or pundit once he retires so that’s 30-40 years of a lifestyle he’s used to that he’ll need to fund.

I do have to agree with DSG in reference to reputation with Pogba. In terms of lifestyle and commitment to being a professional footballer I have hears little and seen nothing to knock him. Knocks over social media I ignore because that's largely old school pro's implying that him posting on InstaFaceChatApp equates to a lack of professionalism when it's simply generational.

I do however think his skillset is not suited to the Premier League and to us. Pogba isn't a trouble maker, isn't a party animal he's just a footballer who is only up for the glory side of the game and who's game is based around him doing something amazing for a few moments a game and that's it.

{Ed0666's Note - great post mate really enjoyed that and agree with most of it bar his skill set is not suited to the premiership. I think give him a Pep or a klopp and you will see a worldie player. He’s got incredible talent he just needs someone to coerce it out of him. But having said that with the money he’s on he shouldn’t have to have anyone holding his hand. I hope we don’t see a situation where pogba retires and we don’t see the best of him.

We have all been here before with Pogba and his agent. I suspect this will be the last season of Pogba and he will leave on a free next summer.
