So supposedly Grealish has deleted "historic" tweets showing support for Manchester United.

This is being put forward as evidence that he will move to City.

I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is I find it a little silly.

Firstly, there will most likely be screenshots of it if he did, which will be all over social media anyway.

Secondly, why worry about it? Lots of players end up playing for rival teams of the one they support.

James Garner comes from Birkenhead, it wouldn't be that surprising therefore if he supported one of the Merseyside clubs would it.

Sancho and Shaw are boyhood Chelsea fans.

Jordan Henderson grew up supporting United. Liverpool's captain has seen photos of him as a kid wearing a United shirt all over social media. Do you think that means the scousers think any less of their first captain to lift the EPL trophy? Of course not.

Surely this isn't something footballers seriously have to worry about?

Grealish is very outspoken, so I'll expect some future MU digs once he signs for City. I guess he doesn't want to look silly when confronted with old Tweets or pics.

I think it’s very unlikely that he has sat at home himself and gone through his old tweets to delete them, somebody from his media team will have done it.

GDS, almost certainly it will have been done for him. It's just the thought process from someone involved that thinks it's necessary.

We all know Grealish is a Villa boy and has previously shown affection for United.

If he goes to City and helps them retain the title I can't imagine many City fans will care much about tweets from 2012.

Same with us, if Sancho (a boyhood Chelsea fan) scores and assists 50 goals this season helping us to win the title, how many of us will care that he supported Chelsea as a kid?

Shappy, to be honest I would have been surprised if his media team had not done this. As much as we say it's okay there will be idiots out there who drag it up when he says a negative comment about us.
It's just good business sense to do it and if they don't he would have the right to question them.
Good player and will do well at City.

Brad, it's fairly well known what he posted and has been all over social media over the last two days.

It'll still be brought up by the idiots regardless, I just feel trying to hide/ delete it just makes you look like you're trying to be someone you're not or hide something about you.

I just think it's all a bit silly. I don't remember any Liverpool fans getting funny with Henderson because he was a boyhood United fan. Also surely the only people who could be annoyed that Grealish has shown "pro-United" tendencies would be the City fans, if there are any😂.

I feel like Brad hasn't posted in for a while either. Some old faces coming back? 🤔.

Supposedly Villa have already got Leon Bailey in. Another exciting player alongside Buendia. If indeed they do get this 100m wedge, a handful of astute signings could be a better outcome than keeping Grealish.
