Question to eds and everyone really. Does anyone see us making one more signing? I for one can't see it but am hoping I am wrong. Thanks to all the Ed's its been a crazy one.

{Ed002's Note - It remains possible but the smart clubs will not sign players for the sake of it. The likes of Camavinga are gone. Manchester United have done OK.}

Thanks Ed002's a CDM was a main priority in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - Only if space was available.}

Think neves is the only real option around camavinga is gone to real saul probably too complicated, maybe we could get neves would be very happy with that.

Luckily for us we are not a “smart” club! Can see us signing Neves. Not sure he’s really what we need though. Ndidi or Bissouma would be a much better fit, but I don’t see Leicester selling and we don’t seem to be interested in Bissouma.

If you don’t mind Ed, could you please let us know about any remaining interest in Lingard, Matic and Jones going into the final day of the window? Cheers.

Redseven, I disagree. I don't think an Ndidi type player is what we need.

Our issue in the double pivot isn't defensive quality so much as its a lack of technical ability.

McFred work hard, make loads of tackles and interceptions, and win the ball back well. The problem is once they have won it back they need to take too many touches to get it under control then lack the passing range and vision to do anything more than a 10 yard sideways pass to a similarly limited player in terms of passing ability.

We need a playmaker in there, someone who'll get on the ball and dictate the tempo, speeding up and slowing down play when needed. A player capable of hitting 50-60 yard passes switching play.

Fingers crossed we sign Ruben Neves today.

Isnt it the DM's job to break up play and give it to the more talented players like Bruno and Paul who then make the defence destroying passes for Greenwood, Sancho, Cavani and Ronaldo?

Grim, in some sides that is enough, but at a top side that is likely to have the majority of possession having a player who is only of use when the opposition have the ball means you are effectively playing the majority of the game (all the time you have the ball) with 10 men.

The very best sides don't have a solely defensive player who has little to no use on the ball.
