I'll try to be positive, really I will.
I like Olle but I am struggling to understand players he has blocked from moving.
He has improved the squad and players morale but for me his in game management is poor to non existent. Too little too late usually much too late. Defenders brought on when we néed goals. We all see it. There seems to be an underlying negativity. If this doesn't change I can't help feeling the new characters in the dressing room (Bruno onwards) will not stand for it.
Olle needs to change otherwise medium term I see problems.

On the positive side we have a squad that should seriously challenge this season if Olley let's them. If we don't there really has to be a day of reckoning. After this window nobody can lay blame at the feet of the Glazers.
Good luck OGS.

Given the players we have signed, I too am struggling to understand Ole preventing certain players from leaving. Expectations will be sky high this season and failure to win something and remain competitive in the league will likely be viewed as a failure by most. If this happens, Ole apologists will point to our poor midfield (which will almost certainly be the reason why we failed, if we do) as justification for why it’s not his fault, but from the outside looking in, it seems that keeping so many players is what prevented the club from bringing in a new midfielder in the first place.

If rumors are to be believed, we turned down offers for Lingard, Dalot, Cavani, Matic, Martial and Donny during the window. With the exception of Cavani, I can’t see any of those players getting a substantial amount of game time this season and so it’s beyond me why they weren’t sold to make space for a holding midfielder.

has ole blocked them or has the club not got the offer they value the player at?

fair enough with jones just let him leave for free, but doubt anyone is interested in him

can he be the answer for CDM haha

but we now have a bigger enough squad to rotate

how many times last season were we crying out for bruno or rashford to be rested but we couldn't because the drop of in quality was to much.

looking at the squad now bar a few places we have a team than can rotate and still have quality to win games.

If Guardiola had this squad we would be pulling up trees.
The attacking talent is one of the best in Europe.

Ya know, Jones a dcm with donny would actually work quite well.

I'd love it if we see a Jones resurgence in midfield. Would be such a great story for him personally and for the club for sticking with him.

In fact, this is my new football fantasy.

Why would we let Donny leave to make room for a DM? He's the one who would make the best partner for a proper DM.

Let him go and we'd end up having a good DM and partnering them with Fred!

@rohan I doubt Guardiola would, his sides rely on a solid ball distributing DM. He can actually win without an established forward, he'd struggle without Fernandinho/ Rodri. Same goes for Klopp, Tuchel and all others who play a similar system. That DM is far more important than many are willing to admit.

I don't matic ball distribution is poor, if had matic had legs we'd be a perfect team.
I don't think our first XI is far off from Man City.
We don't have a proper coach.
A coach that wants to play actual real football.
We play freestyle.
Bruno Lage the wolves coach set up his team far better than us.
Traore was having a field day and playing where fred.
We are not setup to dominate, we are setup to get lucky.
The problem is ole is 3-4 things away from being a decent coach. He just doesn't learn or takes too much time to learn.
