Well, it's confirmed Ronnie has got No 7 shirt and Edi will wear 21, only right really.

At least he shows respect, unlike Di Maria who had this to say in an interview today "I didn't give a f**k about the Manchester United No. 7, at first they talked to me a lot about it, it was just a shirt, "

He wonders why he was an abject, dismal, total failure then maybe this is just symptomatic of the attitude of an uncaring mercenary.

Ronaldo has been released by Portugal and on his way back and will complete 5 days isolation, then start training.

That quote was probably out of context, assume he asked whether his poor performances in manchester could be attributed to the pressure of wearing the famous number 7 shirt.

When in reality he just never got on with the coach and didn't acclimatise to the area.

The reality was di maria only always wanted psg. Psg weren't able to get the deal done with real and we were. He only saw us as a steppung stone and maybe his issues stemmed from thst rather than blaning all amd sundry.

Some times transfers work well other times they don't.

Sometimes the player struggles to adapt to the league, to his new team, to the managers demands or just the culture of the country.

Di Maria maybe didn't want to move to England and as such maybe he joined with the wrong mentality.

It's hard to accept change and rise to a challenge when you're in a situation you never wanted to be in.

I wonder if under a different manager maybe things would have turned out differently. If he stayed another year at the club then he would have been reunited with Jose Mourinho, a manager he thinks highly of and got on well with while at Real Madrid. Maybe then we would have seen the best of him.

I think alarm bells should ring when any young player signs a long term contract but shows no interest in learning the language of the country they have moved to. It doesn't really show a great commitment to adapting to that team and learning to live in that country. Do they really want to live in that country for 5 years or more?

I'm not expecting them to learn to be fluent, but learn at least enough to be able to do normal things like go to a restaurant, the shops, other recreational activities, speak to your neighbors, your colleagues, doctors, or anyone else you might be expected to come into contact with on a day to day basis.

It's going to be isolating and difficult to cope in a country where you are isolated by an inability to converse with the majority of people you come into contact with.

Plus the horrendous burglary his family suffered. Didn’t exactly endear him to life in Manchester.
