Good afternoon Ed's 👍🏻, just a quick question regarding shirt sales. Do United make all the profit on the shirts sold directly by them? (From website, club shop) . As I seem to remember ed002 I think? mentioning that Adidas make the bulk if not all of the money on sales due to their deal with United? If I've got the complete wrong end of the stick then please correct me 😂 👍🏻 Nice one.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United make the retailers profit on shirts sold in the shop. Adidas have the manufacturers profit.}

Although Adidas gets most of the profit from the shirt, they pay United 75M a year to be able to do so. The more Adidas makes in this deal, the higher the next deal in 2025 can be for United.

This is true in part FGIC. But they will also look forward at what they believe the next 5 years will hold. They are unlikely to be too swayed by the Ronaldo shirt selling frenzy, but it does show how big the market is if Utd have similar mega stars in the team of the future.

Exactly, DB. Also, I just read short sales total revenue to be 32m for what they managed in the first 12 hours. They might end the year selling merchandise worth 100m+ with this deal.

Wow. If they made that much through shorts alone, they must have made an absolute killing when socks and shirts are also taken into account!

Redseven, that was the revenue for used shorts from the kit bin. There are some people who love to smell them.
