A few may not like this. but here goes.

I watched the game a day late, after reading the comments on this site. I was picturing a disaster.

Honestly, the over reaction on here is crazy.

Before to the goal we looked okay. Away fixture, plastic pitch. I thought we looked the best team, looked coherent and like we would win the game. Yes, a couple of plays resulted in snap distance shots from YB, but we would have won with 11 men.

The red was bad control from an inexperienced Obe Wan. He has to be better. But he will learn from this, better now than in the knockout rounds.

Two fouls on ronaldo, pen and outside the box. Yes, they are soft, but shoving someone over in the back is still a foul. Fred should charge before one of their shots was also a 50% of the time foul. All 3 were not outrageous not to get them, but the type that you get as the home team.

Fred looked back to a better version of himself. He had more than a few good pieces of play both in the deeper 6 role and later the 8 when Matic played deeper.

Ole was a fool. No, I'm sorry, but apart from the lingard sub - which I would honestly choose lingard ahead of Martial in the same situation, and the Martial sub, with a few minutes to go, the set up looked okay.

The starting teM was what people were asking for, varane, ronny, Sancho and VDB all starting. I saw someone question should ronny and Pogba have come off instead of sancho and Donny. I mean come on, really?

Pogba was described as doing no work. Again, no. He has been much stronger this season, and again put a shift in.

Back 5. Ole said himself, he was trying to nullify their biggest threat of wide forwards. Funny that their first goal (by 2 deflections on cross) came from a wide forward. Ole had put the formation out to deal with that and the players didn't get it done.

Jesse backpass. It happens. It was stupid and the guy clearly feels deeply upset that he did that. He held his hands up and deserves the fans support, criticism yes, but he has always given 100% and has earned support following such a clear and obvious mess up.

I realise this is a long shopping list of excuses. But my point here really is simple. Sometimes in a season you are going to have games that don't go you way. That was ours. Now we need a reaction, after the highs of saturday we need to get back to that good feeling. Tough game at the weekend, but I expect us to go and perform. Ole and the coaches and the leaders in the team need get them all up for a fight. I'm expecting each player to play like 1.5 guys and we turn in a very good performance.

It is a long season and that 1 game will not burst my bubble.

Dodgy, Ole has given nothing but excuses for 4 years.
He has been given everything - time, money, top class footballers.

It is upto him to utilize the resources and get results and importantly TROPHIES.

Chelsea went down to 10 men against Liverpool at Anfield. But still they grinded out the result with a clear tactical plan.
Ole is just embarrassing us with atrocious football that doesn't suit the United DNA.

Before we scored we couldn't string 5 passes together, again it was hard to see any plan or pattern in our play.

Saw a bit of West Ham V dinamo Zagreb last night, similar quality to Young Boys, top of their league won 4 drew 1 of their last 5 - Hammers went at them from the first minute -yep David Moyes team - silenced a rowdy crowd and you could see a hard working Hammers team full of confidence - just one example of a well drilled team doing well.

Im wondering how long before Ronaldo and Varane, Cavani start thinking "whats our plan here, playing style and tactics here fall short of what i'm used to. "

If you look back to when SAF was manager we would usually have a game or two per season where we just played dreadfully. We'd be away at Middlesbrough and lose 3 or 4 nil. These happen.

The issue is these losses were once a season and didn't look like happening very often other than that. Under Ole, we are never far from this sort of result. Performance levels are lower than this group should be providing. We've played 5 games this season, Leeds was a deserved win, Newcastle was a pretty even game for well over an hour and the other 3 (1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss) could have all been losses based on how we played in those games and not had De Gea making a couple of fantastic saves late on vs Wolves and Southampton.

While individuals will make mistakes and that is entirely unavoidable, this should not absolve Ole of blame. He has spent as much as anyone in Europe across his tenure, he's signed an entirely new first 11 effectively, he's also had good youth players like Greenwood and Henderson bolster that squad. The squad is in the best shape it has been for years and simply isn't producing the performances this squad should be capable of. This simply has to be down to Ole and the coaching staff.

I think if it stayed 11v11 then United would have won.

That said we should have enough quality and ability to get a result even down to 10 men against sides like Young Boys. Especially if we are already winning 1-0 when we go down to 10 men.

For me the real issue isn't that we lost, but the absolute car crash in terms of tactical decisions from the moment AWB got his marching orders.

While none of the players particularly covered themselves with glory that game was lost on the sidelines and not on the pitch.

Sitting deeper and deeper and inviting the opposition onto us while not having the quality to hold on to the ball was suicide. Rule 101 when down to ten men you need to keep the ball as much as possible. We failed to to that, and even made tactical decisions to give them the ball. Which without a fast pacy forward players who can break into the space created behind them gave us no out ball and no real reason to invite them onto us.
