Seems to me every time i listen to OGS that he's basically trying to recreate the Fergie era .

Couple of problems with that

1. Football has moved on
2. He's not Alex Ferguson

Even the signing of Ronaldo seems like some nostalgic attempt to bring back the past, except we did'nt sign 24 year old Ronaldo, we signed soon to be 37 year old Ronaldo.

2 games 3 goals
Not a bad start.

Ronney and Cavani rotating upfront is electric. Greenwood learning from two of the very best. Not sure what you would see here that is worth doom mongering about.

Dodgy

The manager looking backwards and not forwards. You learn from the past but use that learning to set the future. It seems Ole just wants to recreate the past. The problem is, that past was built on the genius of SAF, a truly great leader not just a manager. Ole is a championship standard manager with ideas of that level but is not a leader. We have to pack coaches around him because he doesn’t have the expertise on his own. We have to pack the best players yet he still produces Tuesday night. It’s not “doom mongering” to flag the reality that Bilko did, it’s what it is.

Agree mostly redman but would add its still early in the season and we have a couple of important players to come back.
In saying that, I honestly feel this is the final season for OGS unless we win major silverware:ECL, EPL not the carabao or whatever. He has had the resources, players etc with the probable exception ofa DM with quality and still cannot show tactical awareness and the times to change the team- he kept Fred on after 1/ 2 time on a yellow last season and the same again within other games. Granted he hasn't got great coaching staff in Phelan, (Tosser) and carrick (raw as eggs) and the other guy who was coaching bairns not long back, but he is the manager. Worry is, who do we get to replace him?

Conte is available, experienced and a winner.

Pep wants a full stadium each week, he chose the wrong club for that. Come on Pep its a shorter commute for you to Old Trafford than the Eithad.

{Ed014's Note - I think he likes to watch football though, that’s where the problem is ?‍♂️

He's got the likes of Phelan and Carrick alongside him because that's part of what i mean by trying to go back to the Fergie days.

On the Pep and City Fans argument, why don't city just buy fans? Like rent the galatasaray/ fenerbache/ dortmund fans for the champions league or the milwall fans for the premier league.

Or they could spend on hologram fans that don't need to be replaced, would be a better investment than a back up left back for £50m.

I think people tend to forget how much football has moved on. With all of the video and technology available these days, good managers can prepare in the minutest detail, those that are up for it.

We do have a lot to be excited about with all of our attacking talent. But we remain a top-heavy and imbalanced side.

People forget that fergie also didn't come in and win stuff straight away, it took him time to build a team. I like ole and think his work will beqr fruits. Changing manager again will be detrimental to the work that has been put in since he came in.

If I hear Ole say 'that's football' in another answer I'm going to throw my TV out the window.
Then cry and buy another one.

SAF didn’t come in and win stuff straight away but the club was in a far worse mess when SAF took over, than when Ole arrived. SAF had the Aberdeen experience, Ole Cardiff, the difference utterly massive.

Ed, if Pep wants to watch football he has got a TV for that.

{Ed014's Note - a double bonus! Gets to pick games with teams who play football and avoids having to go near that run down old stadium too.
