I like this side tonight OGS has put out.

We need a trophy though this year - and frankly I don't care which one it is!

Martial should never play for the club again. The lack of effort from him in that first 45 was embarrassing- even for him. Would much rather see the likes of Elanga, Shoretire, Hugill get minutes over someone who blatantly doesn’t care.

Eric i thought vdb played well. Nothing amazing. But his passing was with intent he ran hard and was above every other united player him along with Henderson were our better players imo. Matic was the only other player that was really at it.
Mason played a part when he came on. Dalot was going forward but defended poorly and didn't really create.

That was disappointing, West ham could've won by more aswell. I'm not an ole outer and I'm conflicted by how bad some of the players were. Would brendan Rogers, poch etc do better . going for a drink now.

Thought Lingard was our best player tonight so taking him off was a crazy decision. People want Donny to play but whenever he does we don’t win, I’ve been saying this every time when people say he deserves a run, how many games does he get while we lose and he proves himself, because I think we need to win every game in the league and if Donny played and we lost people would be all over the manager. We get better results without him, that’s definitely true.

I agree GDS. We don't play well when he starts. I know some people want it so much they convince themselves that we do. But I can't remember a good performance when he started. With a changed team like today, you can always get a disjointed performance.

Surely we are close to sending Martial down to train on his own? I was going to write with reserves, but the last thing you want is his lethargy to rub off on anyone else. Imagine being in a squad with ronaldo and cavani and to think that is what was needed from him today.

Shameful.

GDS2, watch the game and use your eyes. Donny done well and he was playing with the B-team. He deserves a proper run in the side.

It's funny that the Ole is king gang have no time for Donny.

Why do you care Donny plays or not? We all care that we win. It looks unlikely that we can with Donny. If we can only win with Donny when he plays in the best 11, we are winning without him too, right?

I was at the game and surprisingly used my eyes, thanks for being condescending though. I watched a game and saw something different to you, that’s absolutely fine without telling me my opinion is wrong. I thought he did ok, nothing more, gave the ball away quite a lot and got pushed off the ball a few times in a 1-0 defeat where he made a mistake for the only goal. I’d love him to be great, just didn’t see it.

Also, I’m certainly not ‘Ole is king’ brigade, maybe use your eyes on my posts and you’ll realise that. At the moment the club aren’t going to sack him so I just don’t spend the whole time saying Ole out other sound bites, I like him as a person and I can see the positives he has done as a manager for us which I know others can’t, but I’d imagine his own mother would struggle to argue that he’s tactically astute and makes good substitutions.

The people who are supporting Ole even after all his mistakes and shortcomings over the last few years are not willing to give Donny regular opportunities to impress and prove himself, odd that.

I thought Donny played well, he worked hard off the ball, always made himself available for a pass, and he used the ball well rarely giving it away and moved the ball quickly and with intent. Creating a couple of chances.

I don't get this idea that when he plays we don't win so he shouldn't play mentality. Having watched both games against West Ham I'd argue we played better in the one we lost. We certainly created more last night than on Sunday.

I think the real difference was tonight we had Martial and Mata playing rather than Ronaldo and Bruno. It shows that on Sunday we had 17 attempts on goal with 10 on target and scoring 2. Last night we had 27 attempts on goal with 6 on target an scoring none.

So in the game we lost we had an extra 10 shots but had 4 less on target overall.

That suggests that everything up to actually shooting we did better. We won the ball, circulated better and created more chances. It was just the guys taking the shots didn't have their shooting boots on.

Personally I think Donny was a big part of that. I agree that last season bat the Wolves game he was generally poor, and didn't do enough to warrant a starting place.

This season when he has played he has been at least as good as anyone else starting in midfield and at certain aspects he has been much better.

I'd like to see how he does in a team that includes AWB, Varane, Maguire, Shaw, Ronaldo and Bruno etc. Stick out best defence behind him and our best attackers in front of him and then see how he does.

Also I'd have thought I would qualify as an "Ole is King" gang, yet I have always said I am a fan of Donny and wish he gets more chances. I just think that is hyperbole. It's possible to think that Ole shouldn't be sacked but also be critical of some of his decisions. Just like it's possible to think he should be sacked but concede that he does/ has done some things well.

GDS2, Donny didn't make the pitch in the Europa finals or in the defeat against PSG, Leipzig in CL.
He also didn't play in the sem--final defeats against City and Leicester.
The clueless one bottles it again and Donny was the best player on the pitch.

Ole should have hooked off Martial who didn't look bothered.
Some of the posters digging a player who played well to back the inept manager is just pure bias.

Well to all you who think DVB should be in the team……. first half not exactly any good, loses his man for goal and looks so slow. he not cut out for premier league that’s for sure.
Sancho still not showing anything, he is a worry for 80m… must see a glimpse of something sometime soon!
Might as well be playing with no striker for what Martial adds!
