Interesting paper talk about Ronaldo telling Ole we need to move the ball quicker in the opponents half. No sh1t Sherlock.

If this is true, and it’s a big if, then a couple of thought s spring t mind.

Did Ole not already know this?
If he did why hasn’t he fixed it
If he didn’t and a Ronaldo is having to tell him then that doesn’t auger well for him.

Ronaldo caught on quick Tony. There are still few who don't it see it that way.

I wonder if during that converasation, Ole happened to mention Ronaldo's movement (or lack of it) in the opponents half and maybe show him a video of Cavani's movement and workrate when he came on and then tell him that's what's needed.

If he did'nt it does'nt augur well for Ole as manager because if it was Klopp or Guardiola they would have been pointing it out .

Ole says we attack too quickly lol.
Our transition from midfield to attack is poor most of the times.

Ronaldo looked tired half way through that game, suppose it might be to do with the 5 games in 18 days, at 37 that will hurt no matter how fit you are.
Cavani's played 62 minutes this season compared to Ronaldo's 462, if you remember his first few games back for United, Ronaldo was closing down players and shouting at his teammates to do the same.
If Ole is sensible he will regularly rotate Ronaldo, give him a game off every two weeks, or he will burn out very quickly like Bruno did.

I was about to say the same think Bilko. Fantastic goal scorer but i thought he was very lazy and he was very frustrating to watch as well.
But. he come up with the goods yet again.

Except Ronaldo won't be rotated on a regular basis because he's Ronaldo, he'll want to play every week and Ole won't be strong enough to tell him otherwise, even though we have a quality international player on the bench who could easily be rotated with him .

We all know what type of player Ronaldo is and his qualities. He simply isn't the striker to hunt down like cavani and to compare the two is pointless. Different people different playing style.

I don't care if he sits at the corner flag for 89 mins and scores in the other minute.

Bilko…… go back and listen to Klopp in one of his press conferences he said
“ the only two people in the game at this time who would never have to track back is Ronaldo and Messi so other then that I expect everyone to track back, unless you are either of those”
Ronaldo is not a Cavani sort of player, you play to your strengths it’s absolutely ridiculous to say he not moving enough! He got 5 goals in 5 games for gods sake…. Fred runs around like lunatic does that make him a good player!
No pleasing some…. I guess.

Yeah, except the other night we had Ronaldo, Pogba and Greenwood not tracking back so i guess Ole will need to get the other 9 outfield players on the pitch working exceptionally hard so that we can accomodate Ronaldo.

And by the way i'm not even talking about tracking back, just putting a bit of pressure on the opposition defenders so they don't pass the ball out from the back with ease like Villareal did the other night

I remember Aguero pre Guardiola, he was exactly like Ronaldo is now, did'nt do a lot of work but scored a lot of goals . Guardiola came in told him that was'nt enough, even dropped him at times until Aguero started pressing .

Bilko, Pep plays a totally different style of football, with a full press we don’t do that, and to win the ball back within 3-4 seconds or retreat, we actually only do a half hearted one man press at the best of times! Totally different, you don’t have to run around like a lunatic, actually some of the greatest goal scorers never have
Messi
Ronaldo (both)
Raul
lineker.

The key point is if Ronaldo is flagging such a basic issue to Ole having been here 5 minutes what that really means. I posted about this a few days ago, where players like Ronaldo and Varane know what they are doing, what good looks like and will test plus question the manager if they see a weakness. This says Ronaldo already sees it.

Ronaldo needs to be careful, Ole may suddenly see him as an “energy sapper or sulker”.

I agree Red Man, if Ole isn’t giving clear or sensible instructions, then I suspect Ronaldo won’t be afraid to voice his opinion, and rightly so.

It must be true it was in the newspaper! If anyone cares watch manager interview rather than believing nonsense in newspapers.

How do you think Ronaldo analysed Wednesdays tactical set up?
The managers interviews are usually full of unintelligible incoherent nonsense.

I guess it would be far easier for Ronaldo to analyze the oppositions tactics than Ole's, which is non-existent.

Red Man, it's time we appoint an interpreter to understand what the manager wants to convey. We can get so confused that we need to check back on what the question was to his answer to a question.
