Okay, I know this is not the populist view on the site, but it's my opinion and for the sake of balance and sanity I feel compelled to air it.

There seems to be a general stick to beat Ole with that relates to pattern of play. No idea where this came from, but I find it nauseating everytime I read it. Different coaches / managers have different styles. Some like to manage the player within a tight (even strict) system and some like to give players a platform to express themselves.

I have read so many times that Ole just throws 11 stars out on the pitch and it is his fault they have not played well.

Firstly he is picking the players that go out to play, and of course he and his coaching team send them out with a direction of play. He has said many times in interviews that he want them to play quicker through the lines and attack with width and pace. The "utd way". Against everton we clearly started faster than we have, the team was full of energy and it was working first half, but second they lost their way and got into a dog fight.

I think we have got caught with a squad full of good players that don't quite gel together. I do think they can gel, but they need to play together and learn the combinations that will work. We will improve- sancho is improving, wan Bissaka more effective, fred better after a poor start (no withstanding his awful play for Everton's goal) .

In the future surely the midfield gets upgraded, but we can still compete this year with what we have. I don't agree with this view that Ole should go, the season is just started and we will get better and better. HOWEVER, next 10 games will define whether Ole stays or goes. We have a crazy schedule, tough games in EPL amongst out UCL games, our easiest game is Watford away.

So buckle up and get ready for a defining 10 games. I think utd will come through this test and stay in good place in league and UCL, but then I am an eternal optimist.

Last point, I watch chelsea southampton today, Chelsea were battered by southampton for about 30 mins before JWP dodgy red card, but they ran out 3-1 winners and you could be mistaken for thinking they are infalable. Other teams are also being tested by the so called lesser clubs of the league. The epl is very competitive. Check the table and we are still up there have had slow start.

We may yet suprise a few this year.

Dodgy where can I get these red tinted glasses you are wearing?

Ole and his group of incompetent idiots aren't really coaching anyone that is pretty clear to see from how we have evolved over 3 years now.

Saying I want to play the utd way means nothing, anyone can say that, oh its easy pass quicker, attack with pace, score goals, defend well, come on woody give me the utd job now.

What is he doing to achieve it? We have played 10 games this season, outside of leeds and Newcastle we have looked poor in every single one of them. We don't keep possession, we can't control the game, in defense teams absolutely cut through our mf like it doesn't exist. In attack we don't really create enough chances and have ddg and some individual skill to thank for most of the points we have.

Yes we have a few new players but is it really lack of cohesion that's the problem? Varane has been our best cb since he signed. The inept one has now spent 170mn on defense yet we can't keep a cleansheet even if their life depended on it.

The fake brazilian and rich man's Darren Gibson keep rubbishting the bed every game yet vdb can't get minutes. What has the manager done to change it? He keeps playing the same formation with the same players and expecting a miracle.

The issue is we probably had the easiest start of all the top 6 clubs. Our last two games have been against teams higher up the league and we have struggled, that does not bode well.
The Everton game we started well, and I thought well we are up for this game, it lasted 10 minutes, by 20 minutes Everton had a foothold in the game and it became more even.

Ole has been in post for almost three years now, if the team still aren't playing his way, quicker balls up front, you have to ask why. You said we have a team that doesn't quite gel, some of these players have been together for a few years, why haven't combinations been put in place so they can gel as a team, Ole isn't a new manager with only a few months under his belt.

Ole has been a good transitional manager and has taken us as far as he can.

I thought we did play well against everton, they did a smash and grab number. This is the way of the mid table team now, and many big team are falling for it.

Pressure from the fans for sumptuous football, lots of "we shoulds". I think fans are looking at the recent gears of city and liverpool performance and thinking 100 points is needed to win the league.

It is a long hard season and the mid level clubs have learned how to trouble the big boys. Yes they will get spanked occasionally, but they are now very effective and efficient at defending and then exploding on the break.

Anyway, the point of my post was to recognize that this next 10 games will surely define out season. Play badly and we could be out out of almost everything. Under that scenario, with the media and fan unrest then surely Ole will go. But I think we will surprise a few.

And jesse has more cause to be upset at minutes this season than Donny, he has looked like the difference maker everytime he stepped on the pitch this year, but everyone is just in love with Donny, who has not looked half as good as those in his place.

Dodgy, yes he has surprised a few with a poor start to the season.
Dumped out of EFL, utter dross performances in CL.
2 points against Villa, Southampton and Everton is just unacceptable with the squad we have.

What more does Ole need?
We have given him time, money, top quality players.
He still hasn't got us an identity even after 3 years.

The favoritism towards players is getting ridiculous.
Fred has been atrocious this season, yet he gets picked always.
Matic and Lingard have been pivotal in setting up wins recently, yet they are hardly getting minutes.

Ole has to go right now so that we can get a real coach to salvage our season.

TrueRedDevil, probably he himself needs a manager to help him manage the club.

It's time we sign a manager for Ole ?.

Dodgy, I admire your positivity and like you I hope the season does get better. Over Ole's time I have never wanted him as manager but have always tried to remain balanced. I have tried to praise him for good decisions and tried not to overly criticise him when other factors may be at play. A couple of seasons ago, I'd maybe put tactical mishaps down to new players or not having ones of the quality we'd want, same goes for subs, thinking they weren't being made until late on because there isn't much on the bench. Nevertheless over the last 12 months it's become so clear that the guy is just happy to be there, doing no effective coaching and is winging it.

If you just look at the league table and CL group table you'd probably think our start hasn't been amazing but it's also not been too bad. However, performances have been terrible this season and you can stretch that back to the last couple of months of last season too. Other than the Leeds game (who are perfect for to play against as we are very good on the counter) the last games I can recall where we looked like a team was against City away where we won two nil and Spurs away where we won three one. They were in March and April.

This season, if Wolves could finish and De Gea hadn't made a wonder save we'd have lost, against Southampton the same, West Ham needed a 90th minute goal and 94th minute penalty save, Young Boys was awful, Villa was awful, Villarreal should have beaten us by a couple at least and then yesterday where we didn't create much again over the 90 minutes and again De Gea had to be in top form. We could easily have lost three or four more than we have.

With a squad as good as we have, we shouldn't be performing this badly. Ole has been given a lot of slack, people saying he needed the players. Now he has them and is serving up some extremely disjointed football. Only a couple of clean sheets since March shows a lack of defensive organisation, team selections which baffle fans on a weekly basis, resting players is fine but he didn't do it all of last season and it cost us then just before the international break he rests player should will be called up as if making sure they were 100% for their countries is his role. He is playing players who are out of form and not giving others a chance like Lingard and Donny. Dan James has started more PL games for us this season than either of those and he doesn't even play for us now. Valuing people who can run around rather than those who can actually play football.

If sacked tomorrow I'd be astounded if any club in the PL, La Liga, Serie A or Bundesliga went for him.

This is a Shappy length post and is also a bit of a rant so apologies but the writing is on the wall, if the board want us to win things he must go as soon as possible, if they want us to be battling for 4th and possibly missing out on it then they are doing the right thing in keeping him. I wanted it to work but this nonsense has to end now, get a proper coach.

Dodgy

I just want to totally debunk your point that Solskjaer plus the Utd way. The Utd way with width and pace. The Norwegian fraud doesn’t play with width, does he? If you watch us we don’t go past full backs or get crosses in. He play narrow, pass it across and inside trying to find gaps to slot balls through. Secondly pace, yes on the break if we are up against Leeds who throw players forward or those who don't crowd central areas. It worked well to begin but now everyone knows our one and only tactic. Pace, well Ronaldo looks like he was dropped to the bench because he said the team needed to play quicker in the opposition half, then compare that Ole said we attacked too quickly against Villa.

The dull rubbish is the worst football since Sexton. Ole 99 tinted glasses are all well and good but he has to go and I will be very frustrated if he remains in place after Sunday, the club is a bunch of dithering amateur accountants but even they must see the mess after three years of a manager who frankly doesn’t have the gravitas or experience for the role. Has to go.

The mid level clubs trouble the big boys. that's true and hence Ole picks up his teams to trouble City, Chelsea and Liverpool. Under Ole we are a mid level club.

I think dodgy makes a good point the next ten games are pivotal .
Progress in Europe and staying around the top of the table is a requirement, the champions league draw was kind to us and qualification I'd have thought was surely expected .
The league table is condensed and a few bad results will see a big drop in league placement .
Our fixtures look challenging but utd need to come out of them progressing in the champions league and still in and about the title race .
If this duznt happen then people should get their wish and a management change is justified, if we are still near the top and in Europe we will have achieved some good results and it isn't.

Dodgy everton did not do a smash and grab. Xg for the game was utd .92 vs everton 1.28 and that is without including the offside goal because thankfully davies decided to pass instead of shoot. Our team just got outcreated by a rafa benitez team at OT without their best players.

If the top club bite the bullet and came to us to get a draw, we will not win any game.
Tuchel did that, Klopp and Guardiola hardly do that, but I won't be surprised if they decided they will happily take a draw and set up a little more defensively.

72% possession
6 shots on target to their 2
10 corners to their 1

Everton did not out create us. We needed to be sharper and more clinical in the final third. We got sucker punched twice on the break. The goal and the shot that DDG saved from well outside the area. We then had a mare in the second phase from a their one corner. Are we pleased with another draw? Hell no, but we did play well, we did create some good chances and looked better and sharper.

DodgyBanter, how many big saves did Pickford make in that match? I remember the one from Cavani header then.

From that 72% possession, 6 shots and 10 corners how many clear cut chances did we create?

Dodgy you funny how you mention the 6 shots on target but not the actual number of shots both teams had, but then i suppose 6 vs 2 does fit the we were better spin than 13 v 12.

{Ed014's Note - I’ve literally no idea what game DB was watching. ?‍♂️
