Leicester
Atalanta
Liverpool
Spurs
Atalanta
City
Watford, Villarreal, Chelsea
Tough 6 league games ahead.
What is a good return from those 6 games.
I think we will need 10 points from those 18 to still be in the top anything less and we will be playing catch up from November onwards.
3 wins 3 draws would be great 12 points while taking points off all around us. And we will be still in the mix after a third of the season.
We have the players to do that imo.
Worst case we take 6 points kiss the league goodbye in record time and spend the rest of the season chasing a cl place. We can't win the league in the next 6 games but we could lose so hope if it goes wrong.
Leicester are 1st up no Fred or cavani according to reports but no intl duty for maguire awb matic Mason so we will have a few fresh i hope Shaw doesn't play . Ddg might not play sancho might not Bruno won't play 2 full games so we should be fresh enough. A win there would set us up nicely for the Liverpool game.

Or 4 wins 2 losses? Same points, different vibe. Just playing devils advocate.

We are a mid table team, we will trouble the big boys and drop them against the teams that are near our level like Watford and Villareal.

All very tough games sandwiched in between some very difficult champions league fixtures.

After that we have a decent run of around 13 very winnable fixtures before we face most of the above teams again in our last 10 games.

If I was a betting man I predict our season will go something like this. During the next couple of months Ole will come perilously close to the sack. He’ll need to qualify from the champions league group and get enough points in the league to halt the swell of disapproval. It’s obvious the Club don’t have the appetite to give him the boot unless his position becomes ridiculously untenable so he may just hang on by the skin of his teeth.

Following those difficult fixtures I think we’ll go on a decent run over Christmas and new year which will solidify his position. I’m not convinced we’ll be in a title race but if we’re 7-8 points behind come January it keeps us interested (not really but enough justification to keep the board satisfied) with the champions league to look forward to.

The last 10 games are very tough and in my opinion we’ll be looking over our shoulder in 4th rather than fighting for the title.

A decent champions league and fa cup run will be important in keeping the ever increasing mutiny at bay and probably from inside his own dressing room as well. Ronaldo won’t be happy if we’re out of the title race and champions league by March and you’ve then got to persuade a collection of massive egos that fighting for top 4 somehow represents a good season.

Ole has proven himself to be a survivor but eventually he’ll run into one crisis too many. To the horror of many I suspect he still has the backing of the board so I think if he finishes top 4 he’ll get another crack next season. That seems to be the ambition of the Club and until they actually sack a manager that finishes in the top 4 we have no evidence to the contra.

Ken, we should be going into every match to win. And we have the players to win every match we play, but it's all going to depend on how courageous Ole and the two plonkers alongside him are. And from what we've seen so far, it's not looking promising. I think we should be looking at least 12-14 points if we want to challenge for the league.

Dlib, hope you are keeping well i saw a post the other day saying you are recovering. Keep at it.
For sure ole is a survivor lurching from 1 crisis to the next.
I don't think the club want to fire him yet.
I banking on a player revolt of sorts. I don't think its a united and happy dressing room I think those cracks and divisions will increase.
We have seen before our board back the players over the manager.
Its only a hope i have that the players will not put up with much more.

We are a mid table team. Clearly not everything is rosy but does anyone think we are a mid table team? Really?

Playing catch up if we don't get enough points from those fixtures?
We have NO chance of winning the league this year. Let's be honest and realistic. City and Liverpool are miles better and Chelsea better too. They have better managers too.

Best we can hope for is a decent cup run in the Fa Cup and possibly Europa League.

I don't think we will anything. Hope to be proved wrong but doubt.

AJH, welll we have a PL challenging squad with a Sunday League coaching setup so at ranks us as a whole is anyone’s guess, but looking at recent results if this were to continue then yes we would be out of the top 4 and down the table some what.

Although Ole spouts all the time This is United we look to win every game, on many occasions he don’t seem to set up with the same conviction as what he says!
Mind you he done that for past 3 years
He also says no we see a big future at this club for X, Y, Z then does not even give them an opportunity as with Jesse he goes out on loan plays out of his skin gets his confidence up, not allowed to be sold comes back gets few odd mins here and there and then nothing so the confidence built up for loan is slowly being chipped away at again! Yet people say Ole’s attribute is man management! Strange man management.

AJH

We are competing for fourth hoping one of the big boys slip up. At the same time we have to hope our players who are used to winning leagues and Champions Leagues do not become demotivated. I don’t think we are mid table given what we spent but if there is any demotivating factors we could easily slip to 6,7th. Personally I think we will be 4th and think I said that at the start of the season from memory.

Can see us taking 5 points in the league and 5 in the champions league. That said, Ole does tend to do well against better sides, so anything is possible. It really wouldn’t surprise me if, for example, we beat City and then dropped points to Watford the following week.
