I've watched all games so far,

The only improvement I've seen is defending corners and free kicks, and that has been minimal.

I'd never want a manager sacked when they are 2 points of top of table.

But the coaching team has to do more and implement a style from day one.

Worrying people blamed fred for losing the ball the other day, but the bigger issue was shaw ran all the way over to do nothing and leave his man which ended in goal.

To many of our players leave there area, zone and man and this is not just defending too its attacking.

The midfield is a problem and always will he while bruno is running ahead of the strikers.

The team needs to learn to keep ball much more and not be so desperate to attack, this will cut out so many individual errors.

Mctominay matic and Fred are not the answer so they should give donny a run and see if he can knit the midfield together and keep bruno in check and in the actual midfield, he can still be affective from there.

It's well known I've back the manager for most of his time at the club.

I do feel that now he has a bunch of players though that are better than his own abilities to coach them.

It's time for Ole to go and I'd like the club to be decisive. However I know they won't be.

For me the biggest issue we have as a side is that our transitions of play are too slow and disjointed. Both our transition from defence to attack and our transition from attack to defence.

With the ball we don't move it quickly enough and to the right areas so we are often slow in building an attack which in turn gives the opposition time to get back into their defensive shape.

While once we lose the ball our players are slow to get back into our own defensive shape and are too easily dragged out of position ball watching.

The goal against Everton came from the breakdown of our attack. Fred dived in twice and both times missed the ball. Personally I think on the second occasion he should have taken down the man and took the booking. Then Shaw was dragged across the pitch ball watching rather than tracking his man and defending the far post cross/ pass.

When we lose the ball we swarm around the opposition player with the ball in an attempt to win it back as soon as possible. Yet when they are able to find a way through or pick out a pass then suddenly 3 or 4 of our players are taken out of the game. Our players need to be more defensively smart spatially.

Having 3 or 4 forward players try and press the ball as soon as it's lost is one thing. As if they fail your defence and midfielders are back in shape. But we seem to have our midfield and defenders lead the counter press which means when the counter press is beaten then we are out numbered and easily attacked.

Big V you and I have been having this conversationfor 2 years. The coaching of the team is non evident in any facet of the game apart from goal keeping imo.

The corners are just as bad, we conceded against villa and lost, we had a corner which was a sham and conceded on the break against everton.

We put players on corners who can't cross then we defend like school kids.

My sunday leauge team defend corners better.

We shpuld get the u13s manager and coaches in.

Who would be your next pick Ken?

Shaw has been brilliant offensively. But there are still questions about his defensive abilities. He often gets caught ball watching. He shouldn't be doing that.

I see there are only 4 or 5 coaches off limits pep klopp tuchel maybe poch
I've seen the usual suspects conte poch Potter ZZ but the guy i'd approach is ajax manager or Rodgers. But I'm not fussed anybody would be an improvement in my eyes.

Mad Hatter, are you Jose? That is what Jose said about Shaw too that he was always out of position defensively and needed inputs from the sidelines.

{Ed077's Note - a few people have said that Shaw is still quite poor defensively.

That's because he is ed077.
He wouldn't last 5 mind at Chelsea or Liverpool or City simply because he is not fit enough. Nowhere near one of the best in the world. That's laughable.

Yep he’s so crap his fellow pros put him in the PFA team of the year last year.

AJH I think your missing kens point with Shaw, yes he was in the pfa team of the year and it was his best ever season of his career which statically wise was around half if not more as good as Robertson best ever season for liverpool, personally for me Shaw only got in due to mostly everyone who is better than him had an off season last season.

Which meant Shaw deserved his place he was the best lb in the league but it was only marginly better than Robertson season who many would describe as a bad season for Robertson, so putting everything into perspective I can see kens point.

Aye AJH, I remember Pascal Chimbonda and Gael Clichy being selected too.

Ajh he had a good season. But due to the way this teams play Shaw wouldn't last the pace. He can play our walking football and look good.
Can you see him doing the high energy stuff for those other managers. I couldn't.

Ken I wouldn’t go near Rodgers with a barge pole. Can’t call ole a choke artist yet want him in!

Grim, good player is Shaw, really got his head down and worked. To say he is not the best defensively isn't a 'get me'.

If you have ever followed Ken's posts over the years, he has always been consistent with his views on Shaw.

Caolan, Rodgers teams play good football, he has won trophies and it was incredible how he managed to get that particular Liverpool team within a whisker of winning a title.

Rodgers wouldn't be a bad shout.

Rodgers is a good manager who at times is a little bit cringy. His team's tend to play good football, and he does well enough. It used to be easy enough to call him a choke artist but his time in Scotland plus he didn't choke in the FA cup final against Chelsea. I'm not sure how good his signings are as at Liverpool they had the transfer community during his time so I don't know how much input he had on those transfers. At Celtic it's difficult to judge due to the nature of Scottish teams often having to shop in far flung corners of Europe and in the lower leagues. While at Leicester that have a history of making some very astute signings. So again you don't know how much input he has.

He wouldn't be a bad option, but there are certainly other options I'd prefer.

Angel, we seem to be spend more time focusing on the bad than the good. Shaw is one of the best players we have who is performing consistently well, let's be happy for that.
