Ole stating that Rashford "needs to prioritise football" over his off the field work. He's done some absolutely amazing work off the field that has positively affected millions of lives, also at the same time being over played by a clueless manager whilst he had a long term injury. Then for your manager to say "alright son, time to start taking your football seriously" is such a degrading thing to say.

Terrible management.

Really? Of course Rashford's 'off the field' activities have been incredible. But I'd expect any manager to pull me up if it was affecting my actual job.

Is it affecting his job Spenno?

I’m having this argument over on the discussions page. Rashford is one of my favourite players, he is a remarkable young man and a role model. However, we pay him 100s of thousands of pounds each week to play football, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for the manager to suggest he needs to focus on his day job. Seriously, any excuse to slag Ole off.

Well, I wouldn't start Rashford ahead of Sancho on the left. Easy to say as he's injured more often than not, but I'd say he hasn't been in form for a long time and who knows how much of that is down to a lack of focus.

I didn't see the post on the discussions page before I posted.

If he does think his charity work is affe ting his football then say it in private. Saying it in a press conference is woefully time deaf.

Is he going to tell Cristiano to stop doing adverts? Is he going to tell Mata to stop owning a restaurant? If I remember correctly Lingard had a clothing launch between a Champions league second leg game with Barcelona and a crunch game in the league against Everton and that was fine.

Rashford last year played very well, whilst being injured and over played. He's just coming back now and from reports he's added serious muscle mass and has been putting in extra shifts in the gym.

This is a terrible thing to say in public.

How about Ole back him and say that he has no worries about Marcus focusing on football?

Nah, he had to open that stupid mouth again. I agree mumbles, shocking management.

Werent we praising Ole for not calling out the players in public, yet he has a dig at Rashford.

Good post Mumbles. Totally agree.

Rashford is changing lives, Ole should just keep quiet about it, ridiculous things to say.
