Do you guys think Ole has taken his role far too seriously that he has become so stubborn trying to stamp his authority in a way?

I mean he doesn't seem to be learning anything whatsoever, isn't willing to try something new, doesn't use his fringe players at all unless it is some meaningless game or forced to do so due to injuries, his substitutions, in-game management doesn't look inspiring either.

It’s a bit odd as in his first year he tried a few tactical tweaks, some of which worked. 3 at the back, split strikers, but last season it was the same team and same formation game after game. I’ve just posted about how Ronaldo has changed this dynamic and unless Ole does something radical soon, this is going to get a lot worse very quickly.

AJH, I think during his time as caretaker manager he did do some tactical tweaks initially when he came up against Arsenal and Spurs if I am not wrong.

I was excited at the time and was willing to see how he does even with his inconsistent results as he was just getting started.

But, soon it became clear he isn't up to it. The quality of players we have signed has really exposed him as a manager.

And as you say if he doesn't do something radical soon this could really get worse sooner than most people thought.

I don’t think he is confident in himself so is playing it safe. In the early days he was a little more carefree but now he is in a permanent role, he is sticking to what he thinks will work, but sadly it isn’t. Whatever the reason, the team is going backwards.

AJH, the people above haven't helped either.

They should have made it mandatory to at least bring in more experienced quality coaches and assistants to guide Ole.

Everything now looks a mess.

Fortunately the squad today has so much quality that the right manager can do wonders with it.

Let's see.

He changed his tactics against Arsenal in the cup one game. Played Lukaku on the wing and the man destroyed them. Fast forward two weeks later and he went back to his original formation and lost. He simply doesn't or hasn't the mental capacity to learn and adapt.

I get the fa t he may be afraid so he reverts to his familiar tactics but they're clearly not working. The manager of Manchester United should not be filled with fear.

Can't agree more Mumbles.

We as one of the biggest clubs in the world should have had the best people in charge taking care of things, especially when you take into account the money spent so far.

However, the decision makers have failed miserably time and again ever since Sir Alex and David Gill left.
