Big game tomorrow, so my question is if we see a repeat of the Liverpool performance then what happens next? Personally I think we won't see a change of manager until at least the end of the season largely because of a lack of available candidates and the club not willing to pay to get a manager from another club.

Nothing…ole will smile and clap the fans, the players will apologise perfusely and the club will post clips of our wins from 15 years ago. Everyone will then go off on the international break and we will all be expected to forget about it and support the boys when the next game rolls around.

I don’t understand where you all think the club won’t pay for a manager if right one is available, they not been shy on spending on some rubbish players!

Same as anyone thinking because they give out new contracts there will not be clauses in them allowing to cut short and just pay a fee to terminate, it’s chicken feed compared to money spent on players.

You just seen Tottenham do it and they not got a money tree growing at new ground!

It’s just a very petty argument that makes no sense whatsoever.

Jens I think my opinion is based on recent trends in the hireing and fireing of managers at our club in terms of when they were fired and going for managers who were available at the time.

It's the simple fact that the biggest fee the club have ever paid for a manager was the fee paid to Everton which was around 2m as he had a year left on his contact.

They signed LvG due to him being available for free at the end of his contact with the Netherlands.

They signed Jose with no fees due to him being unemployed at the time. Supposedly if they hired him before the end of the season then they would have had to pay something to Chelsea. Thus we saw LvG struggle on for the rest of the season.

We again supposedly approached Spurs about Pochettino when Ole was caretaker, to be told Spurs wanted a significant fee to release Pochettino and allow him to become our manager. The club decided against it and and after a good run from Ole agreed to make him our manager after agreeing to pay Molde 1.4m.

Managers aren't like players and they aren't considered club "assets". They aren't commodities to be bought and sold.

We paid Moyes 5m when we sacked him.

We paid LvG 6m when we sacked him.

We paid Jose 9m when we sacked him.

And we'll have to pay Ole around 7m to sack him.

That's 27m spent to fire managers.

The club are reluctant to spend large fees getting managers who are on long term deals at other clubs as they are acutely aware that they will likely have to spend further millions sacking them at some point down the line.

Supposedly Pochettino isn't settled in Paris, and there are those at PSG who are questioning his appointment already. With rumours that he won't see out the season, or that he has to win the UCL to keep his job.

This alongside the rumours that Pochettino is United's preferred option should they sack Ole.

Yet the club are seemingly happy to persist with Ole in the hope that Pochettino is sacked before they are forced to sack Ole thus negating the club having to pay PSG a fee to get Pochettino.

The fact is if Pochettino was unemployed currently the club would have likely already sacked Ole and be in negotiations with Pochettino.

The fact that they aren't is mostly because they would be expected to pay to get Pochettino.

My stance at the start of the season was that Ole deserves the season with this squad and if he doesn’t win anything a change would be needed. Unfortunately, Roy Keane was right and these players are throwing Ole under the bus and Ole is out of his depth to change that along with his coaching staff. This is something I didn’t think would happen but it has. So how do you resolve it? Simple solution is replace the manager and that may be sooner than I personally thought or maybe even wanted.

We needed a manager to restore some standards, excitement in this team and get a better squad together and I think Ole has done that. But perhaps, with planning, that should have been his remit in preparation for a more astute manager.

The options now are limited. I guess realistically Zidane or Enrique? Would Rogers leave a very well run club like Leicester? I think he has an ego that would make him strongly consider the job. Appreciate this is Manchester United so you think most managers would but the fact there’s a? on the job now shows where we are. If I had a magic wand then the Ajax manager a long with Van Der Sar and Overmars as a package would be fantastic. But again, do they have egos to take those roles or are they football men who can see the bigger picture and difference in the running of the two clubs?!

or just maybe the board are standing by their manager as if they did sacked him, they would look pretty stupid after giving him a new contract quite recently.

Why they gave him a new contract was probably down to where the team had finished in previous season plus actually getting to a final rather than just the semi's.

Woodward rarely attends matches, so he probably knows jack about football but what he does know about is finance and increased profits.

If we get hammered and the pressure and speculation ramps up even higher than after the Lpool game I can see them discreetly sounding Poch out with Zidane ready to step in at PSG. Word is he wants only PSG or the France job

Ramos supposedly unhappy, Messi not firing, Mbappe situation, Neymar being neymar and golden boy Zidane in the wings makes a perfect storm at PSG for Poch to have his doubts about long term future there

Close to a situation now where each game brings critical spotlight on Ole even if we got a draw tomorrow then lose at Villareal that's a mini crisis. dragging on to the final games in the CL . will we get out the group will we not etc etc . eventually something will give.

I thought once he weathered the fallout after the Lpool game he would get until the summer then be gone. not so sure now he will last that long.

Hearing talk of Poch maybe being sacked during the international break, a lot of PSG fans are unhappy at the performances and the fact they are not dominating games in Europe. Strange comments about Messi being the reason, bit like the Ronaldo comments in the UK. Not sure how concrete the calls for a new manager are, just saw a lot of negativity on Twitter and the media are suggesting he may be gone sooner rather than later.

Surely if those Rumours about Poch are true, why would some of our fans want him? Some United fans wanting to hire a manager sacked for those reasons replacing a manager fans want sacked for those reasons!

Small point on Poch and PSG. I read an article the other day that PSG want their players and staff to speak French, apparently it is very important to them, to such an extent it is a written rule. Poch speaks Spanish and English to the players and the players speak the same back. Even MBappe is not speaking French to other players. Small point but Interesting it has seen the light of day at this time.

I've heard similar things, there's too much disharmony in the squad, so it would make sense to have people one language. I know Mbappe made comments during one international break that he enjoys playing for France because he gets to speak French. Still, can't be bad for him having multilingual skills.

Red Man. Obviously so important to them. Why else would the club employ so many non french speakers? What an odd situation.

They seem to have a defined identity which they have moved away from to buy mercenaries.

Ports, Tuchel was sacked by PSG and went on to win the Champions League with Chelsea. That logic doesn’t stand up.

PSG are all over the place and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Poch bumped. If the reports about the lack of French are true, then they only have themselves to blame.

Messi hasn’t settled, Mbappe’s future is uncertain and it is a job Zidane wants, and he speaks French and is a French icon.

I would prefer Ten Haag so the question is do we want Poch, or is Ole still here to stay?
