Don't get the Zidane love in. He inherited a team full of world class players who also had drive and determination. Kroos, Modric, Di Maria, Higuain, Ronaldo, Casillas and a real leader of a capt in Ramos.

With those players and the financial advantages he enjoyed re purchasing power he only had to worry about two challengers. Barca and Atletico Madrid. Our league is vastly more competitive. Don't know how he would cope with Pep, Klopp, Tuchel let alone Burnley on a cold wet midweek game.

If its so easy dude why has no one else won 3 cl trophies yet? He also won the la liga with the crappy madrid team after ronaldo left but why let facts get in the way of a good moan.

I see your point, but would he not benefit from all of the same advantages he had at Real if he came to United? Purchasing power and world class players are things that we can offer in abundance, after all. We just need a manager who can convert those things into success. Zidane did exactly that in Madrid and won the Champions League multiple times. Who’s to say he could do the same in Manchester?

Zidane is a good manager, you don't win the UCL 3 times being s poor manager.

However, being a good manager and being the right manager to fit a certain club are very different things.

Zidane tends to not have a fixed style of play, but is a reactive manager who adjusts how his team set up in every game to mitigate weaknesses in his side or take advantage of the opposition weaknesses.

It's why his record in knockout tournaments is far better than in league football.

Having weeks to think about, plan and train the players for a specific match works much better for him than having a few days to train between league fixtures.

Managers who have a set style of play and tend to play the same regardless of the opposition tend to do better in league football, but can come unstuck in cup competitions when teams have longer to work them out.

Zidane has no experience outside of Real Madrid a club he had spent 10+ years at before becoming their manager. Whether he can replicate such success at another club remains to be seen. Especially at a club when he doesn't have that experience.

Of course all of this is fairly speculative and almost completely pointless in terms of Manchester United as apparently Zidane has absolutely no interest in managing our side. So we will probably never find out.

PSG suits him to the ground. A club desperate for UCL success, which is a format he excels at. They have no real challenge in the league so that mitigates his weakness in league competitions. Then his gravitas and experience handling ego's seems well suited to a PSG squad full of big time Charlie's. While him being French seems to be an added bonus for a PSG club that seems determined to maintain a French connection.
