Great to see the Lawman looking so well today, picured in Aberdeen where they unveiled a 5mtr statue of him today - very striking it is too.

SAF did the introduction, Denis Laws name was one that was regularly shouted across the playgrounds of my youth and most kids wanted to be him. True legend.

indeed it is so pleasing.

Still one of my favourite players of all time. Whenever the conversation turns to great goalscorers, such as Rush, Nistelrooy, Shearer, Van Basten etc, I always go for Denise as THE greatest of them all.

Enduring memory of a rain drenched Denis Law a few feet from the Stretford End Paddock, straggling hair and soaking shirt sleeves stretched down below his wrist, flicking a V sign at the linesman after a call he did not care for.

Those were the days ---- when football clubs bought their own uniforms.

sorry just read my post back and that should have read "Denis as THE greatest of them all. " and not "Denise as THE greatest of them all. "

My apologies to the Lawman.

The first time at Old Trafford that a footballer was referred to by his first name. To all and sundry it was DENIS!

The original King and also a top bloke
Scotland’s best ever player
Devastating that he missed 68 final but he never moaned about it.

Never saw him play, but my Dad and Grandad used to tell me that Ruud wasn't fit to lace his boots.

Rudd was good, very good but Denis was on a different level. There was a kind of magic about him. This pervaded the whole team. A bit like Cantona did. That ‘63/ ‘64 team were a joy to watch! Bobby and George, Paddy, Nobby .
