God its a boring week : (
How many of you guys were calling for Ole's head last season? You played some great footy and I had trouble keeping Bruno and Shaw out of my fantasy team.
What's changed?

I have wanted him gone for years.

I mean with performances?

A few have wanted him gone for a while but you are right, at times last season we played some good football and obviously went on the great away run of results but our home form was pretty poor and we were turgid in a lot of the away games we won, relying on moments of brilliance. I felt that he had a lot of issues and should have probably gone after the Europa final, he had taken us as far as he could at that point, improved things from where they were when he took over and left a much better squad for a new manager coming in.

I don’t think the club felt he had done enough wrong to be sacked last season, this season he definitely has and his position is now untenable.

Thanks GDS, he was lucky with league position in a season that was an anomally. Any other year and he may have been found wanting a lot sooner.

Jonesy, he failed when the Chips are down. He bottled it at every semi and in the final of Europa Cup.
Also, as I said previously, we were top of the league last year at new year, team lost at home to Sheffield United and he told the press we were not title contenders. That in my book, sums up solskjaer, he simply is not good enough. Would Klopp or Pep have said that? The guy is so out of his depth.

There are old polls going back its been done about 6 times in the last 3 years jonsey.
I have wanted him out like stand from very early on.
I'd say at a complete guess at the end of last season maybe 20% wanted him out.
Maybe 55% would have had no qualms about him being fired but felt 2nd and a Europe league final showed enough progress to warrant him a bit more time. However would not have been too vocal if he was let go.
The remaining 25% felt he was doing a good job and should definitely stay.
Now they are not real numbers just my feeling on what I read and see and speak to people about.
Shaw did have a good season, 2 in a row really, and a very good euros. He is experiencing a bad dip in form for a while now. Looks very jaded and needs to be left out for a few games imo. He looked like he was begining to fulfill his potential. He just needs a bit of a break to get his body and mind aligned again and if telles comes in and does well then he has a proper fight on his hands.
I'd wimagine Bruno would be in most fantasy teams for the goals assists mom's etc but he also was jaded last season and whilst the stats look good again this season I personally think he is impacting on games less. I know AJH would agree with me on that one. He is having good moments but less influence on games overall imo. But often his moments win us a game or gets us out of jail.
I'm watching through a very critical eye and I'm aware my bias make it hard to see any positives over his entire tenure.
Our squad is hopelessly bloated and as a result completely unbalanced and our 1st choice and 2nd choice cf's are 37 and 34.
Our only special-ist holding midfielder is 33.
Half a dozen players that have started less that 50 games between them in 2 years costing 5 m a year each. With youth players on their back not getting a look in.
It's a mad situation.

Didnt want him in the first place, wanted him gone after his temporary tenure ended and that hasn't changed since.

Jonesy

I said clearly on here when he was a temp that it was an error to make him permanent. I referred to him as the failed relegated Cardiff manager and stood by it since then. He set up with the Cardiff mentality, pacy counter attack, which worked for a while because it wasn’t expected of United. Once teams became savvy he has struggled tactically. Now he is badly struggling, the city loss flagged the enormous gulf in management. Frankly, it’s embarrassing he is still there.

I too wanted him gone last season.

One reason was getting dumped out of Champions League in the group stage. (His indecision for Fred's red card was a sackable offense) .

Another reason was the Europa League final defeat (His stubborn refusal to not use any subs and his favoritism were disgusting) .

400m spent and not having a distinct style of play shows the coaching incapability.

tbh jonesy the run of away results masked the performances and he has been hanging on for a while: he got the job by good luck rather than good judgement and although he is perceived as a utd legend that title is fading quicker the longer he stays.

For me, the tie in europe with not subbing fred and the debacle that followed was the time to go. AS WELL AS THAT i am never comfortable with the slavva that pours when we are beaten and the false smile; it becomes so annoying.

I wanted him gone soon after he started; as soon as I realised it was more of the same crap, boring football we had experienced under Moyes, LVG and Jose.

I think everyone wanted him to succeed Nd most hoped he would. I think the vast majority of fans however have always had doubts about whether he was good enough, we all just wished he would have been.
