Please forgive me for being a bit naive, but could someone fill me in on Ragnick as a coach, but also what he will bring in this supposed consultancy role?

The only coaching gig I remember him was his Schalke side we beat in the semi final in 2011.

I know very little about him mate.
But we have lots of Google experts here who will be happy to lie to you about all sorts from his personality traits to his preferred dietary options if you have the patience to read it but be warned most of it will be nonsense?.

From a tactical point of view he introduced gergenpressen into football. Many consider him the godfather of modern German football. Many of today's top managers (particularly German) have taken his ideas on board and have made them a vital part of their own ideologies.

Managers like Klopp, Tuchel, Flick, Nagelsmann, Rose, Marsch and Hasenhuttl have all taken his ideas on board in a similar way to how the current crop of Argentine managers (and others) have done so with Bielsa.

He has also played a key role in growing the Red Bull franchise clubs to what they are now. Introducing a structure across all their clubs that enables them to all feed into eachother and grow quickly. A strong focus on developing players and training managers/ coaches, improving the staff as much as the players.

Any info that someone has on him would also be appreciated.

Why do people believe he could move into a DOF role after his interim appointment? Is this something he has done before?

I'm happy he'll point us in right direction. I hope he has a big say in shaping the team and sidelining or ousting those who don't fit. He has revolutionised the philosophy of many clubs.
When he has started the team's style evolution and is shunted upstairs, I hope he will sort the higher management out as well!
As for being appointed as a "consultant" I hope this leaves Woodards ongoing consultancy bid dead in the water.
I 'm very happy.
