Hell of a player, I think he could be awesome for a top side. So so good going forward, could you imagine him overlapping Sancho.

I like him, whether they decide to go older ie Trippier or younger as competition to AWB this kid is a great player.

Tino Livermento at Southampton looks a real player as well. Not as quick and dynamic but silky on the ball.

{Ed001's Note - you lot do know Lamptey is a right midfielder not a full-back don't you??}

Must be a different RWB called Lamptey I've been watching then.
To be fair I see him as being pretty versatile, a bit like Saka, who has played down the entire flank for Arsenal.

Ed001, both Lamptey and Livramento spent the majority of their Chelsea academy time playing right along the right hand side, RB, RWB, RM and RW.

Livramento even played a few times on the left.

Both have a fairly well rounded skillset both in defence and attack, although both are better going forward than defending.

This season Livramento is mostly playing at RB, but has played RWB on occasions when Hasenhuttl has deployed that sort of system.

Whereas Lamptey has more often than not played RWB/ RM depending on how you see that role on the right of Potter's often used 352/ 343 formation. Although he did play wide right in a 4231 type shape against Newcastle.

I think both players similar to Saka can play anywhere down the wing.

All exciting players and it will be interesting to watch them develop over the next few years.

{Ed001's Note - Lamptey is not a defender, he can't defend. I know where he has played but he is a midfielder.}

Ed001, ah right now I get what you mean. Although to be fair who can defend in the modern game?

A large proportion of CB's played in midfield at youth level.

Defending seems to be more about pace and power rather than reading of the game and technical skill and understanding.

Defending is a dying art.

Ed he's a footballer. Not a bag of crisps. I'm sure he can adapt around the pitch if needed, and well it seems. Crisps are one flavour when you open the bag.

{Ed001's Note - right whatever. Why bother wasting my time telling you that he is not a replacement for Wan-Bissaka as you all know better even though none of you noticed he plays in midfield and knew that Chelsea saw him as a midfielder.}

Fair enough Ed01 you know much better than me. I concede that. I just thought that a player could be moulded if needs be.

{Ed001's Note - he simply can't defend, that's why they play him in midfield. They tried him at full-back and he got destroyed. They went to a back 3 to give him more attacking license and protect his flank better. Some people just don't understand some things. When he is older and more experienced, he might grow into a full-back, but now he is too rash and wild for the role.}
