What happened was unbelievable! Like I still can't wrap my head around the shear stupidity and Injustice meted out to LH.

If truly you wanted a race, you'd abide by the guidelines you were to enforce.

The entire system is designed such that constructors use their tec + driver skill to win - you win by being faster and staying ahead to the finish line.

A driver 12 seconds ahead and a collision takes place then one of two; either give a racing lap with max stuck in traffic or allow lapped cars unlap with the race ending under SC.

Even if they felt ok let's keep it entertaining, why not a red flag and a restart with each driver having his advantage relative to the driver behind?

By not letting Ricciardo and Stroll to unlap LH, it meant Sainz lost a chance to challenge Max and LH for P2 and P1 respectively. Or didn't Sainz deserve a crack because he wasn't winning a title?

And to those saying it was Mercedes fault not pitting and changing LH's tyres to soft, that's the most hilarious excuse for the farce and absolute travesty that took place.

Why would a driver leading by 12 seconds with less than 10 laps left and more than enough compound to yake him through need to pot to change tyres?

Masi decided who won the world championship by creating a scenario's a 1 lap race. A multi billion pound sport reduced to the ego of one man who chose to ignore the rules. He needs to be removed immediately; is it clear the drivers have no confidence in him.

In the search for 'new' fans the FIA have effectively accepted match fixing, and Horner needs a slap for failing to address the fact the rules were not followed.

An absolute disgrace.

It's match fixing, Hamilton was right the race was manipulated to get the result they wanted.

It's bull and I'm not watching it anymore.

Did Lewis Hamilton all those championships without any help from the FIA? Laughable if one thinks so. Its a fixed game, always has been. Even the hopeless Bottas manages to win in that Merc.

ua come on mate was lewis 11 seconds behind with 4 laps remaining, it was a sham, blatent max fixing to get the result.

They shouldn't have allowed tbe cars infront of max move and then didn't allow the cars behind the chance to move.

F1 has lost all its credability after that race, won't be watchinf it again put it that way.

Bolger that's what i am saying. Its fixed and runs in cycles. Timo Glock a few years ago letting hamilton past on the last lap so he won the championship ahead of Massa? Fixed? Several instances which could be pointed out. I understand its the british thing that many here get hurt that hamilton didn't win it. Ask the dutch on why hamilton wasnt asked to give the place back when verstappen had to give it back twice last week. Why was hamilton not punished for hitting verstappen in the back last week when he was slowing to give the place back. Its all fixed to make the last race interesting.

UA, have there been decisions across Hamilton's career that have benefited him? Of course.

I'm not particularly a fan of Hamilton, much like I wasn't particularly a fan of Schmacher. Although I can appreciate a great driver and respect them for what they have achieved.

Verstappen has the potential to be a great driver, however currently I think he is dangerous and arrogant. While I think his actions have the potential to cause serious injury. I don't like the dangerous disregard he has for this fellow racers. However, he is young and hopefully he matures and learns.

All that said, the repeated decisions by the FIA, Masi and the race stewards to allow Verstappen and Red Ball to get away with and even bend/ break the rules while punishing everyone else is totally unacceptable. They have engineered the entire season in an attempt to control/ manipulate the results.

Simply put that is fraud and cheating. How can bets placed on the winners and losers of a sport be upheld when the results have been manipulated? How can a "sport" have any sporting integrity when the governing body is favouring one team over another.

Imagine how you would feel if the FA decided to not give penalties against Liverpool, to give them penalties that just aren't fouls while manipulating decisions in their rivals games in order for Liverpool to win the title?

You can't have a sport where the outcome is decided in a boardroom and not by sports men and women on the pitch/ track etc.

The FIA have stripped all sporting merit and sporting integrity away from F1 this season and reduced it to an entertainment show, where the results are directed to add drama and increase tension in a pathetic attempt to hook viewers.

I don't watch F1 to see a drama, I watch it because I enjoy the sport. They've taken that away and as such I will vote with my feet and stop watching it.

From the sounds of it I won't be alone.

UA, if you could list all the occasions the FIA helped Lewis that would be very helpful. I'll wait.

Mbd,

I’m not a Hamilton fan nor really a fan of F1, I watched on Sunday because I love sport and seeing the 2 best drivers go head to head like that I thought might get me back interested in the sport. What it did was make me realise why I stopped watching a long time ago, it was a total joke and clearly Hamilton should have won, but there is clearly no integrity left and they don’t want a real competition, just drama. Might as well watch wrestling.

mbd, I'm not a Hamilton fan. I just think that a governing body should treat all competitors equally across a competition.

I want titles to be won on sporting merit.

I'm not a Chelsea fan, bit if the FA manipulated the results to make sure Chelsea won the league ahead of Liverpool I'd be just as outraged. Even if as a United fan, if United aren't going to win it I'd prefer Liverpool didn't.

you set the rules then you play by them. You can't keep moving the goalposts to suit who you want when you want.

Trust me if the decisions had gone the other way this season in F1 and the FIA kept favouring Hamilton and Mercedes so he could win ahead of Verstappen then I'd be equally annoyed and would also have come to the conclusion to stop watching it.

I want to see good racing, clean racing, great battles between drivers. In the end I don't really care who wins, but I want to see it decided on sporting merit.

I feel much the same about tennis and golf. I'm not a fan of a particular player, but just want to see great sport decided by sports men and women in key moments with great skill or decision making.

Surely people can see a bending of the rules to get a desired outcome whatever their nationality .
Glock chose not to put intermediate tyres on in 2008 and it was a mistake and Hamilton passed him .
Latifi did not crash on purpose to help max and nobody is saying max cheated .
What happened was rules were bent by officials to gain a desired outcome .
If the idea was that finishing a championship behind a safety car wasn't acceptable then red flag the race and tyres can be changed and everyone has a sporting chance .
Instead we got a situation where rules were bent so Hamiltons sporting chance was almost nil as max could break way later that Hamilton and Hamilton was basically made a lame duck .
I don't think Hamilton is as popular in the UK as many may think and there are many who thought perhaps max was the superior driver, I think many will have changed their mind about that now if those measures were required to beat him .

I used to love watching F1 back in the days of Piquet, Prost, Mansell, Senna and Schumacher. Then like a lot of things it just turned crap and all we were watching was a procession. Now it's manipulated to try and generate excitement; a dead sport.

Like everything, F1 has had it's day and now it's tired.

Football is going the same way, mainly because of the media and too much money. Players are soft and entitled. My mum is harder than most and she's nearly 80.

Mbd, any F1 fan will stand for the love of the game.

Whether a LH, MV or even a Schumacher fan, it's obvious the integrity of the game is at stake and if this is let go, we'll go back to the dark days of blatant corruption and race fixing that everyone fought so hard to kill.

Keep waiting Tony. I am not going to get into it.

I am actually agreeing to whatever is being said by all of you. I am also saying the same things. Its all fixed and decided behind closed doors. I know certain things regarding f1 and its decision making having being a stakeholder at one point in time.

Being a Ferrari supporter i actually stepped away when rules and specifications were changed to stop ferrari dominating again and bring red bull into the picture. Merc was the next in line to stop red bull.

I seen a cracking analogy which summed it up for me.

It’s like Lewis was winning a football match 2 - 0 and the match stopping in the last minute due to an off field incident.

The referee then decides to restart the match by giving Max a penalty kick and saying next goal winner!
