Don't post often these days, but felt the need today. Just wanted to say how well Sancho played yesterday and has looked much like the player we hoped for in recent weeks. Looks far more comfortable on the left and has made it his own for sure. Thought he looked dangerous all game again yesterday.

The other thing is we're improving under Ralf, the issue is a lot of average players in the squad, but he's started moving on the players that aren't good enough, plenty more to go i expect. I wouldn't be against him staying on another year, I'd probably prefer that to Poch to be honest.

His cross for bruno actually came from the right.
He's just been played a lot on the left, hasn't actually played any fair bit on the right.
He's settling in well and unlike some of our other players his passes and crosses are actually accurate.
Really happy for him and hope he remains injury free till the season end.

Awb and dalot have useless final ball. So it's a rare thing to see good crosses.

think we need 2 fullbacks in the summer maybe more so a rb, telles i prefer for left back instead of shaw.

Sancho and Pogba have been the bright sparks in the last 4-5 weeks.
The main concern is that none of our fullbacks are putting in any sort of quality crosses.

He seems to have a football brain, something I think a lot of modern day wingers lack. His goal against Chelsea he knew Rashford was offside so took it on himself. Fred's goal yesterday, he seen the big picture unfolding and played a lovely ball. His chip for Bruno was beautiful. We lack brains and composure in the wide areas. So many balls just whacked in without a thought about where it's going.

He's been very good. Delighted for him.

Agree we need better fulbacks who can get past players with some composure and cross intelligent balls. Cash in clearing some players out ronaldo and rashford included. Hurts to say but the new guy for liverpool looks a proper player.

Get Laird in at RB. Thought he should have been with us from the start of this season. Don’t think we’d lose anything having him in at RB from the start of next season.

Except for the fact he has shown no reason to be at rb either?

We have Laird and Williams out on loan - Williams in particular is really turning it around at Norwich. Not seen much of Laird to be honest but he has a good reputation. Not sure we’ll go to market in these positions….

I think you get a very good sense early on which players are going to ‘make it’. Of course there are exceptions but you could see Rash / Greenwood / Elanga had something extra when they were first introduced. I saw nothing in Williams to suggest he’ll ever be our first choice.

Spenno, Williams looked good in that he gave it 100% and he had a little bit of a nasty attitude that you need. To me he looked fairly similar to Gary Neville, good solid technique but nothing special but a real worker and possibly a leader.

Whether that's enough to make it at the highest level anymore I couldn't tell you. The competition is much higher than it's ever been.

At very least Williams looked like a solid dependable back up/ squad player.

You mention Elanga and I'm yet to be convinced. I have really enjoyed seeing him in the first team, and I think he's done well. He works hard and he follows the managers instructions, he has pace and good technique. Yet I think he's slightly one dimensional at the moment, which isn't the end of the world he is young and there is plenty of time to develop. But I don't see a top player in him. For me he's no better currently than Januzaj was when he broke into the first team, while in my opinion Januzaj was a more rounded player with a higher ceiling.

Telles is absolute garbage, i would rather have a 50% fit Shaw playing than a 100% Telles.

William's played well against Mo Salah for the parts of the match I was watching. I was flicking between that and the chelsea game so didn't see it all. Be he was looking pretty solid.

Is he going to give you the attacking threat you need at a top club, that is the problem.

Well you get you wish simo we have a 50% fit Shaw playing every week he has only been 50% for since he was 16. Poor full back. Very poor.

Shappy, for £100k pw I’d give it my all as well. If that’s the remit I should be starting every week.

Spenno, Williams is not on anywhere near 100k per week.

However, footballers wages are still beyond the comprehension of us mere mortals.

If wages were determined by effort then we'd have the smallest wage bill in the league and not the highest.

Williams is a good solid professional who works hard and seems dedicated to his career. He's talented enough without being a special player.

Maybe he will be good enough as a squad player for us, maybe he'll kick on and be good enough to be first choice, or maybe he'll fall just short and leave the club to have a solid career elsewhere.

Currently as a United fan I'd much rather our club be associated with Brandon Williams than Mason Greenwood, which highlights it's not all about talent.

Telles is better than shaw. Shaw is just riding off his exploits in the euros.

Shaw has no positional awareness. He was completely oblivious for the 1st Leeds goal. He fails to track players and often is guilty of ball watching.

20.) 23 Feb 2022
23 Feb 2022 07:48:31
You’re not going to see Williams being an attacking force at Norwich as they’re largely under the cosh every week.

Didn’t Rangnick say he’d be coming back to the squad next season?

Enough of these nearly players. Who are the bezt full backs in the world and which ones can utd realistic employ?

22.) 23 Feb 2022

Shaw is better at every aspect of going forward other than crossing accuracy than Telles. Yet Telles has a far better understanding and reading of the game meaning defensively he is caught out far less. Yet in terms of defensive duels Shaw is the more robust and wins more than Telles.

Ultimately I think both are only good enough as back up. Although I think Shaw could be better used in a slightly different role. Either as the LCB in a back three or as an inverted LB. That way he wouldn't venture as far forward and as such wouldn't be out of position so much. While both roles would make good use of his passing and his ability to win defensive duels.
