I was excited for the match today but as soon as I saw our starting 11 I told my wife to get ready we were going on a hike here in southern Utah. I did bring myself to watch the highlights (I mean lowlights) later.

Why does the club continue to play Harry, Fred, or Pogba. Harry is clueless, Fred must be color blind (he passes more to the other team) and Pogba just wants to be paid.

Scott Mac tries but he's just not good enough.

Does anyone really believe Ronnie was injured? I have my doubts.

Arsenal look a lot better than we do, they seem to be improving. We aren't.

Can't wait for the summer, since that seems to be the clubs plan, to get out the deadwood and bring in some true footballers.

Surely AWB is in this list of players too? For me he’s one of our worst players in recent years. Genuinely poor with the ball and a poor work ethic too when having to get back.

Who does he play in their place?

Varane was out. So it's Jones who's played 90 minutes in 2 years, or Bailly who himself isn't well known for staying fit. Bailly also has a tendency to be rash, which against City is just asking for trouble.

No Fred or Pogba. That leaves McTominay, Matic and Bruno as the only experienced midfield options.

Matic is useful in games where we are likely to see the majority of the ball and dictate the game, but is a liability in those games that we will not. If Bruno plays in midfield then Rashford has to start as a striker. Or we shift Elanga to play centrally and play one of Mata or Lingard wide.

With Varane, Shaw, Ronaldo and Cavani out yesterday we were fairly limited with what we could do. As it was a very inexperienced player in Elanga started and we had Hannibal on the bench.

Harry and Fred are no where near good enough for where we want to be. Yet we didn't really have many other viable options who would have definitely done any better.

Two players I would keep…. De Gea and Sancho, that’s it.

The rest, I be lucky if I got a fiver for the lot of them at my local Sunday car boot sale.

It's a tough one really Shane. You are 5th in the EPL which kinda shows you have the 5th best squad.
The problem as I see it is that you don't really have anyone that would get in a top 3 team (bar DDG) so it's not the case that you can buy 3 or 4 players and on that basis be challenging for the title.
It's more like you have the 5th best player in each position and therefore everyone needs replacing.
I see loads of posts here (same on the LFC page) saying the youngsters can step up and challenge for first team places but we all know it rarely happens.
City sadly will win the league, name me one of your players that would get in their match day squad, even more sadly Burnley may finally get relegated this year but name me one of your players that Dyche would tolerate in his team?
You talk as we do about a major clear out in the summer but who wants these guys at a price over a few million quid.
Imo Burnley have a better defence than you, West Ham have a better midfield, and Villa have a better attack.
EVERYONE needs replacing.
Views appreciated?

I'm pretty sure Sean Dyche would take a fair few Utd players. Similarly I'm sure we'd like a few Burnley players over what we have.
I feel only 3-4 players are worth keeping but of course it doesn't work like that, I can see 4 max coming in. Despite being a work in progress for a decade, nothing will happen in one summer to end the progress. It will take the next manager 2-3 years to have get everything he wants, assuming he gets that long.
We go in a cycle here. If we win or draw nothing much gets said, if we lose it's complete meltdown until the next game.
