I had a quick flick through Ajax match report in Dutch media this morning -agan Jurrien Timber gets a very mixed review- first goal he was by penalty spot in an attack and hit the post and team mate scored from rebound. He was caught out upfield a few times. A fan said i liked him better when he was a defender not someone who roams everywhere around losing the ball. intrigued I had a look through fanzines. seems he does get a bit of flak for wanting to be an attacking midfielder when he should be a defender, fans say he has regressed a bit because of it. He is also around 5ft 11, not the strongest in the tackle either but his reading of the game is good and he is fast.
Maybe its the media hype linking us with him but Ruud Gullit said this month he will struggle in the PL.

Ive always liked the big fella Milenkovic but worrying no big club has ever come in for him.

Maybe Timber would be a RB for us. He played there a few times this season.

When you compare to our CBs I don't think many would be a downgrade.

He looks a little gung-ho from what I've seen, can't afford to go flying in and going to ground so much in the Prem. But he's fast and clearly pretty adaptable too so is a bit of a work in progress at the minute.

I don't think Timber would pull up any trees in the EPL.

Can see Timber as a CDM when needed also.
