It feels like and this is just an assumption that our transfer activity is dependent on this de jong deal. We just want to wait and see how much of a budget we are willing to put into this deal and what is the rest of it. Barcelona aren't sure themselves as to what they want for de jong and once that is settled i think our activity will kick on. Its fruitless comparing our activity with the others. I think De jong will happen sooner rather than later and then the others, may be Antony, torres and a few free wild cards.

Or maybe the Glazers are doing what they do best and giving the bear minimum to keep us fighting for top 4 and that's about it.
Honestly, the fixtures were out this morning and I can't get excited about it any more.
Maybe a relegation battle will focus the thieving owners into selling the club.

We know how much they want for the player,

Makes me laugh, ten hag has convinced him to join and in that time the club have dithered with what we are willing to pay

We paid 80 million for slab head

Just pay the money and get the players the manager wants so he can start to implement his plan for the season

Its the same sh**e every summer.

We’ve ‘allegedly’ offered 52 for him and Barcelona want 70. In the real world surely you’d just go back and say meet in the middle?

Who knows what goes on in these negotiations.

I always imagined you make an offer it's either accepted, rejected outright or rejected and told but we will accept X figure. You then either offer more or walk away.

It just feels like when we get told a figure we then dither as if we expect them to crumble. As if they have no choice but to sell whereas clubs nowadays have a lot more money and don't have to roll over to survive.

Every deal feels like a saga.

You make an offer and they either accept or don't. Each transfer is different some clubs will be prepared to meet some won't. It is up to us to offer whatever it is they are prepared to say yes too

Problem is it seems we can't negotiate, it's like we put in an offer then expect them to crumble. When they don't we don't look like we can.

When we put in an offer it doesn't look like we are very good at moving on, it's like we have a planned offer make it and then become stuck over what to do next.
