So we leave for our pre-season tour next Friday. There is a decent to good chance that by that time we might have the majority of our summer signings in through the door. With Malacia all but done, Eriksen possible any day if he chooses us, closing in on De Jong, about to launch a move for Martinez, while Bachmann I think they are waiting to announce until we have a more "sexy" signing to announce first.

So I just wanted to know how all those posters who have been freaking out over the lack of signings feel at the moment? We could have as many as 5 deals done before the pre-season tour.

{Ed014's Note - or you could simply have 1 deal done, that’s just a waste of a post mate.

Utterly pointless post whilst you can clearly say with zero certainty that any of that’s going to happen ffs! ?‍♂️

I love the line Erickson could join any day if he chooses us! ?

or we could have no one at all. or 10 new players . no one knows how close we are to any signings.

In football journo speak the word "close" seems to be fluid as the kids say.

I expect Tyrell Malacia, Frenkie De Jong, Lisandro Martinez and Eriksen to be United players by next week.
Looks like the club has done a lot of work for these players in the background.

I think Malacia is done.
Am hopeful on FDJ but the wait is ridiculous - pay up or move on.
Eriksen would be my favourite signing of the summer but I just feel that if he were coming to us, he’d have been here already.
Martinez I genuinely think will happen.
Keeper-wise, I don’t understand what Bachmann would give us that Heaton wouldn’t.
I think there’ll be a signing around deadline day that hasn’t even been mentioned yet.

I think we are seeing the same old failings. FDJ seems to be digging his heels in, if Eriksen wante to come, surely it would be done by now, it seems we take forever to get even simple deals done.

I have no confidence we will get the players the Manager wants.

Shappy - Come on mate we’ve still not signed a single player yet! The first player through the door will probably be a back up left back. He may prove to be a really astute acquisition but he doesn’t exactly address the alarming hole in central midfield.

Eriksen is a decent player but at 30 years old hardly represents the future of the Club and do we really need another attacking midfielder with Bruno and VdB already at the Club. Another player that’s hardly a guaranteed starter.

The FDJ saga rumbles on with no obvious conclusion in sight. The latest development suggest Chelsea are now circling.

I know nothing of Martinez and I’m not convinced he’s an obvious starter either.

I remain cautions and interested to see which players we finally get through the door. For the sake of argument if Malacia, Eriksen, FdJ and Martinez do eventually arrive I think only FdJ is guaranteed a starting position in the opening game of the season. Let’s see what happens.

As Tony and DLIB say, we've had a lot of personnel changes, but nothing seems to have changed the way we do deals. Except, we're now going for cheaper players as the Glazers seem reluctant to compete for the best young talent.
It's rumoured that we're going for Martinez, a player ETH wants it appears, his clause is £43m and we're trying to barter and Arsenal are also hovering, so rather than take out £24m in dividends, which are undeserved and unwarranted, surely we could have offered Ajax the money they're asking for Nartinez and also offer Barcelona the few million more they've been asking for fdj. But it seems the owners are doing what they do best, look after themselves with no real enthusiasm to improve the on field activities.
Shappy, we're not moaning for the sake of it. The club needs huge investment in the playing staff and in the facilities. The new players need to be brought in early in order to settle in the area, find houses, schools etc and also acclimatise to the new surroundings and their new teammates. If we buy them in a couple of weeks, then they are going on a ridiculous tour of the far east and Australia with zero chance of settling in to the new place they call home.
It is really poor judgement and it's done to save money on wages, the later they bring them in, the more money they save. It's as simple as that.

Getting any top level player into our club at this time is not simple. First you have to meet the selling club's high valuation and then you have to persuade a player to join us who would probably prefer to be at a club likely to be in the running for major silverware.

We have an incredible amount of business that needs to be conducted and a limited budget with which to do it. So, give the new guys a break, and stop whining folks. They have an enormously difficult task ahead of them undoing the rot caused by Woodward's 10 years of mismanagement. It would be great to get some deals done this week, but this is a long term project. Let's give these guys at least one full transfer window to both bring in new players and get rid of some of the overpaid dross that's hampering the effort before we engage in the tediously repetitive complaining about how nothing has changed.

AaA. No real enthusiasm to improve ivest and improve the players.
AaA?
Name owners that have spent more on players and investing in the team than our owners?

Don’t need another number 10 because we have Bruno and Donny

Honestly some of panic embarrassing.
Fans moan because we signed players last year sequentially.
This year we moan because we seem to be negotiating collectively.

What matter is ETH has who he wants at Pre Season and at the end of the window.

As you say we could have new 5 players next week but we might have none.

Ken, the Glazers appointed Woodward to do their buying and selling, to tie up commercial deals, and basically gave him carte blanche to do whatever he wanted. He wasted hundreds of millions on rubbish signings and a few hundred more on commercial players who were signed only to sell shirts. I can name a few of those.
So now, they are in deep trouble, shares trading at an all time low, debts at an all time high, and they are cutting down on the player budgets. The money is not there and that's not the fans fault, the players they wasted money on were bought from money raised by the supporters and commercial deals, they wasted the money through their bad planning and chasing big players for commercial reasons.
They have made their bed and now, we're all expected to lay in it.

AaA. Nobody expects you to lie in anything. Nothing is expected from you by the glazers, absolutely nothing.
Until the device to sell nothing will change in terms of them taking money from their own company.
The debt to value ratio sees them quids in you need to get over this. They have different objectives to you and no amount of crying is going to Change that.
Evey penny the club make belongs to them and the other shareholders. They can do ajar they like with it.
They are not trading wreklessly and finances are in fine shape from their perspective.
They have invested over 1 billion of their own money in new players and you complain about them taking out 25m a year.
You need to look at it without a fans hat on.
They will have no financial concerns at all. You and others are worry over something you have no control over nor do you understand the finances very well its laughable imo.
