Depay about to become a free agent, all things going well. Surely he would be worth a punt and take some of the sting out of potentially the same situation with Ronaldo?

Think he's better than what we was when he left.
Since it's a free signing for a a very decent player who can cover 2 positions.
I don't think Man Utd will go for him, and seems more like a Juventus type signing.
Also no idea if Depay wants to come and stay backup to martial and Rashford again.

Intriguing option on a free. Just goes to show how desperate Barcelona are to get players off the wage bill they are releasing them from their contracts.

On one hand I'm not sure he's exactly what we need. Plays best from the left, an area of the pitch that Rashford, Martial, Sancho, Elanga and Garnacho all probably play their best football from. Like Rashford he can play right but half as good on that side as opposed to the left. He can play as a central striker and is solid back up but as Barcelona have found out he isn't a good enough option through the middle for a team looking to challenge for the major honours.

That said our depth behind Rashford, Sancho and Martial this season could be a bunch of kids in Elanga, Garnacho, Pellistri and Amad as the only real options. Depay is currently a better option than all of them.

Making a move for him probably hinges on whether he is happy to join the club in a back up capacity, or at the very least in the knowledge the club will be looking to sign better players in his positions which will make him a squad player in the coming seasons.

If he's happy with that then fine explore the move. However, if he want to be first choice for the next 3-4 years then he's best off moving elsewhere.

Sancho is clearly best from the right.

Also, Depay would easily displace Rashford. His attitude is gone, its like he doesn't even try anymore.

I'd have Garnacho pushing to at least challenge on the left right away. Of course we don't like to throw youngsters straight in but he's got to get some time. We need RW / CF reinforcements.

I would take Depay for sure. He has learned from his experiences and matured is a team player and has quality delivery and is creative too. His goal and assist record for Barcelona is pretty good for a team that was not performing so well.

Put Sancho on the right as others suggested and where he flourished for Dortmund. I would also give a lot of game time starting with cameo sub appearances for Garnacho. He is good enough and had the desire to do well and I don't want to see his talent being wasted in the U23s.
